Kinda got into this tank accidentaly(ish). I had no plans on keeping any FW tanks, I havent had one since I was 15. But My brother did and he had to move. So I took his tank and fish. Well I had a 55 layin around so I cleaned it up and transferd his fish to my house. After about six months his pleco died. It, along with a catfish were both 13-14 inches long in a 12" wide tank. Figured it died of stress. All that was left in the tank was a dwarf guromi (sp) and this catfish. So I sold the cat to the LFS and began to think of what I could keep in this tank. I decided cichlids, colorful active fish. There is only 8 fish in this tank. here are a couple of pics.

Good looking fish! Yellow labidichromis were always one of my favorites when I kept cichlids.

Now you get to proprogate coral, and the pay is better.

Meh...I'll leave that up to our trusted LFS. Plus I don't have the time that I use to. I do miss the FW side. I had the best looking German Red cichlids in town....I should have never gotten rid of them :(

I didnt mean only to grow and sell, simply that you will need to trim your corals and or make room for others. And your trades or if you sell them outright will help pay for new stuff. I havent bought new stuff by cash in a long time. Just by triming corals and trade either by other reefers or at the store. A few of my fish, half my coral, all my cuc were essentially free. My cichlid tank stock was all basically paid for by my salt tank.

Oh yeah, I hear ya. I did a lot of that several years ago when I had an SPS dominant tank. But times have changed and time is no longer spent on my tank like I use to be able to....all still loads of fun though :) It's been some time since I've bought anything for my tank.

Are your fish breeding yet

The water parameters are quite different for south american cichlids than for african cichlids. I wouldn't try mixing them. The yellow labs and yellow acei will probally be killed by the green terror since he will get 2-3 times there size. trade him in and get some rusties = ). I keep rusties with my yellow labs and yellow tail acei and they all get along pretty well, got 12 yellow labs, 9 yellow tail acei, and 6 rusties in my 75g.
