I know a few people here are into photography here so I thought this would be a good place to ask for help.
I have a Nikon D50 and I am looking to get an Auto Focus lens that will provide A LOT of zoom for a cheap price. This is what I have found so far, but I do not know much about lenses so I don't really know what is good and not.
Thanks!

I also forgot to mention that I would be using this lens for water sports, car racing, and other action subjects.

That lens is kind of slow on auto focus, so watersports, racing might caused you some problems getting good shots of the action. It is a good lens and they do have a better lens for the digital camera, but the thing is pretty pricey. I'm not a big Nikon man most (all) my cameras are Canons.

How much do you think a "fast" lens would cost the would do the same at this one but faster?
This one would be a little better imo http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O161X0/ref=pd_cp_p_1/103-8487843-7936653?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_r=1MWX9BHMTF12V2W8B2Y1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=250314001&pf_rd_i=B000HJPK2C#moreAboutThisProduct

The second picture of the #1 Audi, was that taken at the uphill right turn, right after the straight away?

That's a great lens for the price, there is now an ED and VR version of that same lens and both are more expensive than the G. Again, the G is a great lens for the price.

Please educate me what does, ED and VR mean? Is that the reduced shake feature or something?

ED is nikon's fancy glass, it stands for Extra-low Dispersion, lens elements w/ ED coating are supposed to help w/ the image quality.
VR is nikon's Vibration Reduction system, it is very good... however, the three lens are all priced differently...
