I finally put together my 39GAL Oceanic Cube and transfered my fish (all except a damsel that still eludes capture). Going with a fish only tank PP Puffer, Vlamingi Tang & Maroon Clown), no inverts and a bare bottom. Sump has LR/LS for filtration and some cheato to aid in keeping the algae at bay. PVC pipes are just temporary until I find some more suitable dead coral decorations. I have 2 75W Acentic VHO bulbs as lighting, I need to find a Daylight VHO bulb to pull out some of the blue color. My family room looks like a bar with blue neon at night! The valmingi seems to be doing well in there for now but when she gets a little bit bigger I am definitely going to have to get her a new home. I am running a Sealife Systems sump with a Iceworks chiller probe, a phosban reactor with carbon & phosguard. Running my canister on it also that was on the 55GAL to aide in keeping the system stable. I still need to work on a top-off system soon, 1/2 evap a day so far. Glad to finally get this up so now I can take down my 55GAL and start on my coral prop tank. Might think about adding some softies later. Does anyone see any problem with adding softies?

Vlamingi Tang ??????

Those suckers need huge huge tanks. like 6 ft long absolute minimum.

Ditto on the vlamingi tang. Even though it's still relatively small, they NEED the extra room for swimming. I have a juvinile Dussimeri tang (which reaches a similar size as the vlamingi) in my 200g tank and he looks cramped to me...

Agree on the size of the tank for the vlamingi. It seems adjusted but I guess I do need to get her into a bigger tank. Thanks for helping me make up my mind, just not easy when you care for the inhabitants you have in your tanks.

Yep...BB! I do have LR/LS down in the sump but I like the look of a FO tank with a clean bottom! I am looking for some dead coral decorations if anyone has any they want to sell. I also bought a VHO White DL bulb from Aquabuys today to get ride of some og the blue from the actnic bulbs. Should make a big difference.

I have some old bleached dead coral skeletons I'll give you. They came with a used tank I bought a long time ago (1998) and have been taking up space ever since. I'll try to get them out and get you some pics tonight and can probably bring to the meeting.
