I just unpacked my new GEO 818 Calcium Reactor. I recently upgraded from a 300 gallon net system to a 425 net system, and my GEO 618 Reactor seemed to be a bit small for the task, so I was looking at the GEO 624 or the GEO 818 as a replacement. The 818 holds more media and uses a more powerful recirculation pump, a Pan World pressure rated 40PX, which pushes 480 GPH. The 818 holds 24# of media, vs 18# in the 624, so ultimately I went with the 818.

Build quality is typical GEO, excellent with nice positive locking fittings on the CO2 in and Effluent Out lines. Solid acrylic construction. Check out the 18 thumb screw keyhole lid, hehehe!

One feature I really like about the 818 vs the 618 and 624 is the red handled ball valve at the bottom of the pump intake assembly. Great for draindown whenyou need to remove the pH probe from the lid for calibration or cleaning, adding new media, etc.

Nice looking reactor, Dave... one day I'll post pics of mine and you'll wonder why it doesn't say "Sanford and Son" on the side. :)
