The Atlanta Reef Club is proud to announce this months speaker, Dr. Terry Snell (http://www.biology.gatech.edu/faculty/terry-snell/). Dr. Snell is a Biology professor at Georgia Tech working in the Environmental Science & Technology department. He will be presenting "Coral Reef Ecology in Fiji" to the ARC and an open discussion question session. We look forward to seeing everyone out this month for our June 12th meeting at 7:30pm.

The location will be back at Steve Shindells office building on the lower level (as the evening security guard at the front desk if you're not sure where to go). Here's basic directions for those that haven't made it out to this location before:

From I-75 South-bound:

Take Exit #255, West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway. Turn left off the exit ramp. You will pass under I-75. Turn right at the first light onto Northside Parkway. Go to the second light, and turn right on Howell Mill Road. Go up the hill, and turn left on the first street, Downwood Circle. Go straight on Downwood Circle into the parking deck (all the way down the road). The building will be on your left.

From I-75 North-bound:

dorian965, I assume because you say you can't come to many you mean you're coming to Tank Tour not the Tuesday meeting? Will you also be at the Club meeting or no? PM me for directions if you want to come to the tank tour? I hope it's the tour, because I've got some small frags for sharing or trade.

we will be at the meeting. If ne one wants to rid themselves of live rock we need about 10lbs of smaller pieces.

How long are the meetings?

If someone bring a Magnesium Test kit I would buy it.

I've got to go to New Orleans for the first part of the week and won't be able to make the meeting now, so if anyone is participating in the June 17 Tour of the Tanks, visit the ARC Member Discussion page, or PM me for details later in the week. Tenatively it looks like, start in Cumming for two member's tanks and maybe a third, then Roswell and finish in Lilburn.

How long are the meetings?


1.5-2hours... sometimes longer when people stick around and chat.

Can everyone bring a Name Tag with thier ARC name and real name. I spend half the meeting trying to find people that I have promised something to or need to pick something up from! This would just make the process a little more efficient! Thanks!

Noah (Intensereef) and I exchanged numbers before the meeting, thats the only way I found him to pick up a piece of equipment that was highly prized by myself. I think we should promote this idea, as most everyone has sell phones, and it would be cool as heck to see 100 people playing phone tag in the same room! I had a great time, thanks to everyone for providing it.

We've talked about doing to nametag thing for what? 6months now? Alan bought some really questionable nametags a couple months ago but I think he realized his poor judgement and burned them...lol.

Questionable? how questionable can name tags be? were they left over ones from the petting zoo (a now defunct midtown bar "questionable" standards)?
