I have 2 from live aquaria. Ive had them almost a year now. Very slow growers, but its hard to say as they spiral as they grow. You definatly need to spot feed them, or dose mysis to the tank or they tend to retract and not put out their polyps. Its a hardy coral but may not show its true beauty if you dont feed it daily.

I've read a few threads about them on Reefcentral. Most people do not have issues keeping them alive and growing, though they do require spot feeding.

Definitely different. I don't know if I like them or not yet!

I wonder if setting up a system for feeding like I have heard being done with Sun Corals would work with these guys. Sort of an inverted cup with a tube for delivering to food. The cup keeps the food suspended around he coral instead of being pulled into the water column.

This is how Jeff ( AU01ST ) did his spot feed.

And this is how I feed the sun coral (you can see the shrimp hanging out thinking he's about to get a free meal). Top half of a 2L glued to 1/2" PVC tall enough to reach out of the water. Thaw a cube of mysis in a cup then pour into the PVC. Some of the food will hit the ground; this is good. Once the whole cup has been poured, the top and most of the polyps on the sides have closed up, they have food. By lifting the pipe 1/2" up and down quickly, water flows in at the bottom of the plastic and kicks up all the food on the ground. The polyps around the bottom of the colony grab their bits of food. Leave the cup on for an hour and voila! Pretty easy IMO.

One thought, I may need to drill a few small holes in the 2L to keep water flowing through there, figure a 2 dozen very small holes will be alright?
