My pair spawned again on Thursday afternoon. Eggs should hatch Saturday night, the 21st. They are at my shop in Canton.

James Cook got the last batch (see my other available eggs thread, he's posting updates!), but he's got a full house.

So if anyone else would like to have a batch from my 8 year old pair, you're welcome to them.

It's a big batch. A few ended up being laid on the floor of the tank but 90% or better are on a piece of PVC and easy to transport. Just let me know.

You will have to be available on Saturday late afternoon. We close at 6. Lights go off at 8 and they seem to hatch within maybe 2 hours of lights out. I can arrange to meet someone after hours if need be (to leave them with parents as long as possible before hatching).

James picked these up a little while ago. Wonder if they'll hatch in the car on the way home?

My pair will likely spawn again in 2-4 days, so if anyone else would like the next batch, let me know. I'm thinking that James has a full house now ;)

they didn't, so lights out now and hopefully they'll leap into life soon

Well lights are on a timer for 8:00 every night so they should go within an hour I think.

How is this batch making out, James? I'm suffering from update withdrawal :)

hey
they are just fine. I got a normal (for me) hatch out. Maybe 10-20% of eggs didn't hatch and a dozen or so crashed and burned the first day. I got some tetraselmis from john, so the bowl is nice and green and full of healthy rotifers. I'm hoping that this smaller batch will have fewer losses at meta. Not much to see now, but I'll post some picks of the others soon.

I think some of those hatched prematurely due to the upheaval in the system. I was a little afraid they wouldn't hatch at all. There were more eggs that they stuck to the bottom of the tank which couldn't be retrieved.

They spawned again today, so the system isn't slowing them down. With the huge zoa shipment, we've done a 100% water change over the last few days. I was afraid that might throw them off, but nope, sometime between noon and 4 when I was out, they did it again!

How's the older batch doing?

They are kicking with the bangaiis over in the 20g. Looking great. i lost 2 in the filter and it is still meta for the slow ones. lost 2 today. the move always stresses a few.

Wow, they look like little replicas of their parents now :)

Any anomalies? Or did they pretty much all come out with traditional markings?

Not trying to hijack the thread but if anyone needs any eggs I have a pair that produce every 12 days. Those are some busy fish.

they are the fastest growing clowns i've raised, and very few misbars. maybe 2%

Those were from the 8/10 batch, weren't they?

I'd like to buy some back from you when you feel they are ready. I want to take some home too - they are "my grandbabies"!
