This sump is built from your basic 55g tank. I bought a complete system and will be using a larger sump that I already have.
There are three chambers. The former owner had the sump laid out with a skimmer section, a return section and a refugium section. The overflow from his DT was split if I remember correctly, with part going into the skimmer section, part going into the fuge. Obviously, you could set it up differently if you wish.
Please note: Baffles are acrylic and siliconed in. In the right side you can see two lines on the bottom. These are silicone where something was in there and was later removed... I think it was a "stand" of sorts to get his skimmer up to the right level. Also note the extra silicone in the right rear corner... there is a chip on the outside of the corner, and the owner overlaid the whole corner inside (and outside in the chip itself) to be safe against a leak. It does not leak.
I filled it with water to check for leaks, and there are none.
The large (left in the photo) section was a sandbed and rubble. I have removed the sand into a bucket, but not cleaned it. It is free if you want it with the sump. I am keeping the rubble.
$50 members, $60 non. I would trade for anything I need to finish my build... right off the top of my head, I need a media reactor or two, and some NEW "reef floor special grade" substrate.
