I would like to know the pro and con of these two fixtures. Has anyone owned either one of these? The Coralife fixture has been in the market for awhile, but I have not seen any LFS's carrying the Current USA fixture. Please post your reviews. I really appreciate it.

I have seen the 24" Current fixture and it is pretty cool with all the ballasts being built in. I think this is a bonus on smaller tanks where you would not necessarily have room for remote ballasts (+ sump, skimmer etc) under the tank. The Current dual actinic pc lamps are also nice. They have a 7100K blue side and also a true actinic 03 side in each lamp.
I have not seen the coralife fixture but it seems to be about the same but with a remote mh ballast.
I am curious to see if the Current fixture can be installed like a pendant. I have not bought one yet as I was thinking of using it over an oceanic 40g stretch hex.

They are probably pretty close to the same, with the obvious exception being you would probably get better after purchase support (repairs, defects, etc.) with something that is a little more readily available. Coralife seems to be doing stuff right. They have a whole line of T-5 lighting, external pumps, and some pretty good skimmers about to start shipping.

I read on the Current USA's website that their Outer Orbit HQI fixture comes with suspension hardware (you have to buy that separately on the Coralife fixture). Also, there are more moonlights (8 vs. 4) on the Current. With my tank being 24" deep, I will go with the 72" pendant. I saw the Coralife operating in the LFS, and the corals look awsome. I am just wondering if the Current would do the same. Thanks everyone for the inputs.

I would go with the coralife aqualight pro HQi because i just bought a brand new one from marine fish in marietta and i love it. It is the best light ever. The moonlight feature is really cool. I also have two other coralife fixures on my smaller tanks but they are not the HQi. I recomend the coralife

I own the 48" version of the Current Outer Orbit and I seriously love it. I just went to The Fish Store and More in Buckhead and saw that their SPS tanks are running 60" or 72" versions of the Coralife light. I can't say I like the SPS's from the store but I'm not sure if it's related or if they just need to change their bulbs.
I am trying to sell my 4 month old Outer Orbit so I can upgrade to 250w MH's. (It turns out I like SPS more than I thought...) Let me know if you're interested.

Are you asking about retrofix or the hold light system?
I own an Current 2x150HQI with 4 T5 and 9 bluelight moonlight with 9 white moonlight.
it running for like a week now. All build in and it is quiet.
I wouldn't know about online service, but I brought mine at LFS and had problem with the fan. They replace me with a new light system without any problem.
It was like. hmm fan doesn't work. Ok bring it in and we get the light system replace :D

I have a Current USA Sunpod on my nano and it works great. It's a 150w MH 14K with moon lights.
I would ask Doug at Reeftanklighting.com- he is a club sponsor and very knowledgeable!
Here is the link to their ARC Forum.

I had a 60" version of this light. It's nice to have the ballasts built in and save some space. However, I had hard time hanging or resting it on the tank since it was sooo heavy (at least 60-70 lbs.). I ended up selling it and bought a CoralLife. It is something that you may want to consider.
