I hope I don't offend anyone by saying this, but the scientific name (Holanthias Fuscipinnis) almost sounds like Holy F...

Looks cool. Like a "Fanta" can turned into a fish. I bet they'd look good "shoaling".

I agree. Has the exact body shape as the borbonius anthia but much more colorful.

Assault, I'm assuming that these guys are very much like the borbonius anthia which are fairly hearty. However, since prior to us getting the 4 we have in stock, there was only one in the entire United States. This is truly a Super Duper Rare Fish. The guy who has the other one was selling his on reef central for $3500.

If you havent gone to see these- do it. It may be the ONLY time you'll ever see one, no less four of these fish in person (unless you buy them). They are stunning, and uber ultra rare. Kudos to the Warehouse crew.

Oh, that devil was on my shoulder the entire time, whispering into my ear. Maybe. I have to see how much a kidney goes for nowadays. Well worth it though!

Another reason to love the Warehouse. I enjoy it everytime I go and for someone that lives in Athens I go a lot.

I saw them yesterday afternoon. I did not see them clearly, but they are still amazing. I would be probably interested in one. I want to know:

Minimum Tank Size?
Care Level?
Temperament?
Reef Compatibility?
Diet?

thanks,
thanh

The actual scientific name is odontanthias-fuscipinnis (http://reefbuilders.com/2009/05/31/rare-fish-video-alert-bodianus-sanguineus-odontanthias-fuscipinnis-random-barbefish/) . The odontanthias denotes it's region as Pacific. Here is an article http://reefbuilders.com/2009/05/31/rare-fish-video-alert-bodianus-sanguineus-odontanthias-fuscipinnis-random-barbefish/

There is a secret spot in the ocean, somewhere near the lost city of Atlantis. I go there several times a year and pick some up.;)

No seriously. They come from the deep waters of Hawaii. Only one guy in the world is crazy enough to go and get them. Most all of the fish he gets go to Japan. Much better market for him, but occasionally we get some in the US with some arm twisting.

With all the expensive rare fish Jeremy has, I think he should change his screen name name to jmoneyapanda. Maybe "JMoney" for short, hehehe!:D
