Can anyone tell me what this is?
IT looks like a slug, but has a shell on part of its back.
It is reef safe?
Thanks

From what I have read on the web, it seems to be reef safe. I guess I will just leave it alone.. Cyberchef 04-13-2005, 10:11 PM From the looks of the pic the body of the snail looks to be fairly longer than the shell. Looks more like it could be a Stomatella Varia. Type of snail, herbivore, good for the system. They readily reproduce in our systems and the eggs are great food for the fish and corals, provided they can catch them... IPSF sells them as "Sea Bunnies" , almost at the bottom of the page http://www.ipsf.com/#anchor45957 Here are a few links with actual pics http://www.reefcorner.com/SpecimenSheets/stomatella_varia.htm http://www.reefs.org/hhfaq/pages/picture_pages/faq_stomatella.html http://www.saltreef.com/galleries/snails.htm Baley 04-14-2005, 1:22 PM Thanks Cyberchef!! That information helps a lot... |
