View Full Version : Leaking 210 Gal. Aquarium w/ Stand
jasonmclendon 03-26-2010, 3:14 PM Three months ago, I purchased a 210 Gal Aquarium w/ duel overflows made by all glass aquariums. This past tuesday it started leaking. The glass is not cracked; thus, it is coming from a seal. Now, I just want to get rid it. I am asking $375 for tank and stand (Black), also made by all glass). The stand alone cost me nearly twice my asking price. For serious inquiries, please email jasonmclendonis@gmail.com.
Additionally, we have the sump and mag-drive 24 available for sale as well.
If you bought it new and have proof of purchase, it should still be under warranty, the store you bought it from should be able to get you a free replacement.
Just FYI.

jasonmclendon 03-26-2010, 3:23 PM Thank you. I did that but they don't want the tank or stand back so I am trying to sell it. Thanks for the heads up!
They may not take an outright return, but they should be able to help you get an exchange. There are procedures with distributors for that, but it's not hard to do.
If you need help with it, PM me and I'll see what I can do for you.
Cheers,
Jenn
elFloyd 03-26-2010, 3:33 PM Thank you. I did that but they don't want the tank or stand back so I am trying to sell it. Thanks for the heads up!
Are you saying All Glass has already refunded your money, but they don't want the defective tank back? And it's yours to dispose of as you see fit?
What are the dimensions of the sump and the price?
LilRobb 03-26-2010, 3:36 PM Larry,
That's how AllGlas warranty works - yes
kayakATL 03-26-2010, 3:37 PM Thats a heck of a deal for anyone willing to re-seal the tank. Glad you found your way here buddy. What are you asking for the sump/ mag? As always pictures help.

elFloyd 03-26-2010, 3:39 PM Sounds like a good buy.... a little too early for me though!
kayakATL 03-26-2010, 3:41 PM Never mind, Just saw your post for mag and sump.

jasonmclendon 03-26-2010, 3:42 PM The sump is 25.5 x 13.75 X 17 and is listed as being capable of handeling a tank up to 240 gal. I am asking $175. The acrylic seperated at the top of the sump and I fixed it with appoxy.
grouper therapy 03-26-2010, 3:44 PM Any idea where the tank is leaking top bottom sides?

Not typically... if I replace a leaker (and I've had maybe 2 in 8 years), I have to return the defective tank to the distributor in order to receive credit for it. Effectively I buy a new one, and return the dud. The distributor is *supposed* to dispose of - destroy the defective tank. They don't always (I've seen dealers picking up leakers in one place - they can repair them etc., if they choose to) but those are no longer under warranty, for obvious reasons.
They don't just issue a credit on a say-so.
Having said that though if OP wants an exchange and he is unable to with the original seller I may be able to help.

jasonmclendon 03-26-2010, 3:57 PM Yeah, I know one place that the tank is leaking from (and I will show anyone who would like to look at the tank), but I am un-sure if it is the only place.
jasonmclendon 03-26-2010, 4:01 PM The dimentions of the tank are 72x24x30

Schwaggs 03-26-2010, 6:07 PM My All-Glass 210 is 5+ years old now, never a problem.
grouper therapy 03-26-2010, 6:43 PM Every aquarium manufacturer has had a tank leak one time or another for sure. They may have made the tank perfect and the shipper twisted the tank and broke the seal there are a hundred possibilities.
