Sweet! Great job. I love the TV comment, it is so true. I remember when I was cycling the tank we used to laugh because we would still stare at it even with nothing but live rock in it.

For anybody who doesn't know what the "great job" is, this was an undrilled 6' tank which is now obviously a peninsula end-overflow. Nice work!

Thank you guy's for all the kind words & encouragement :) Sorry it's taken me awhile to reply. I have a abcess I-tooth :( so I have been a little under the weather the last few days! Going to get the sucker pulled Friday & a partial made. Got a question for yall & it's a stupid one but here it is :D
Looks like my waterchanges are going to be 25 gallons every week. How do I know that 1st time doing it how many gallons I'm taking out of the tank? Do I use a milk jug so I can measure each gallon & make a mark or do you know if there are any 25 gallon containers available anywhere? I could do it with 5 gallon buckets but I'm short & those are heavy. Suggestions please :)

I always do roundabout water changes from my sump. I take as much as I can out of there (usually around 15 gallons into a large tub) and siphon what crud I can off the rocks in the tank into a 5g bucket, giving me around 20 gallons. My container is 25 or so gallons and I marked off the side of the container at 20 so I know how much salt to mix, etc, etc. I usually end up with about half a gallon to a gallon left in the tub, which is fine with me.

Hey Grouper
The tank is totally finished cycling finally & my little chromis are doing great & I also ended up getting a bicolor angel which is doing really good. We have a thai restraunt right down the road so I go down there once a week to get that seaweed stuff for him. Very cute fish with lots of personality. I've been looking for those blue reef chromis you were telling me about but I have not had much luck finding any. How have you been?

Looking great! Love the rock work and the tank is so clean! I have some GSP and it grows like crazy! I'd place the frag on a rock that's easily removed so that if you decide to sell it to make room for other corals you can a lot easier than if it were on a harder to access rock

musicalocean

Thank you!! I didnt think about that at all. Glad you mentioned it. It's amazing the difference that golden head gobie has made in just a week. I had nasty Cyano on the sandbed but he cleared it all up. I feed him really good 3 times a day as a reward & he eats like a pig. I was reading about them & it says they dont eat well & wither away but not him. He is growing some already :)

feeding 3 times a day=more algae problems to come....

musicalocean

Naa, I rinse the food very well & only put in enough for them to eat in a few mins. The sand & water are cleaner & clearer than ever. If I start getting too much I will just cut back a little.

Yeah I got one because of the beginner cyano too! They do a GREAT job for sure. But mine did what you read about....he eventually withered away to nothing. It broke my heart.

Aw, I'm so sorry about that :( did he eat to begin with & then quit? Hope mine dosent do that too. I would be crushed as well. They are adorable creatures!!
