Probably the biggest meeting of the year- after Michael's auction show last month.
Usually our best attended and universally enjoyed meeting- our FRAG MEETING - will also this year be narrated by Philip Root again, owner and operator of Blue Ocean Ventures, LLC.
This is one of the largest, if not THE largest, coral propagation facility in the USA.
Philip will be demonstrating and discussing methods, techniques, safety, as well as providing a LIVE demonstration.

And the most best part....you get to take the corals HOME.
All participants will take home some free frags. However, membership does have its privileges, and members typically receive higher quality/demanded/more free frags.

Details for the frag offerings to follow!

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at 7.30 PM. The meeting will be held at Steve Shindell's office space.

Directions to Steve Shindell's office building -

From I-75 South-bound:
Take Exit #255, West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway. Turn left off the exit ramp. You will pass under I-75. Turn right at the first light onto Northside Parkway. Go to the second light, and turn right on Howell Mill Road. Go up the hill, and turn left on the first street, Downwood Circle. Go straight on Downwood Circle into the parking deck (all the way down the road). The building will be on your left.

From I-75 North-bound:
Take Exit #255, West Paces Ferry and Northside Parkway. Turn right off the exit onto Northside Parkway. Take an immediate right onto Howell Mill Road. Go up the hill, and turn left on the first street, Downwood Circle. Go straight on Downwood Circle into the parking deck (all the way down the road). The building will be on your left.

3200 Downwood Cir Nw
Atlanta, GA 30327

Or MapQuest directions can be found here.

While this is our best attended meeting - please pay some respect to Philip's demonstration and do NOT disturb it by talking in the back of the room!

I would also like to remind everyone that Steve's office is a medical building and that means: ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING anywhere around the building.

they have a bright green body with blue tips. the frags can be cut however big you want them, though I have some that are tiny at around 1/5 inch and some around 3/4 inch

so do they teach how to frag the corals is that how we get free frags?

there will be a demonstration on a few corals. But there will be hundreds of members and guests there. So volunteers will do most of the free frags.

I have a question however: In the picture above, what is the pink ended coral on the left (to the left of the bone shears)?

LOVE to find one of those, looks like a nice shape and color.
