...on a MR2-R skimmer, will that improve anything?

Two trains of thought here:

YES,
it will - atomize the bubbles even more

NO,
it won't - the waterflow will be too low to use the Becketts efficiently...

Comments?

Dont waste you time or money. Leave the beckett as is.

I'm confused kind of. The MR-2R pulls water from the bottom of the chamber so there shouldn't really be many bubbles going into the pump really. Can you clarify?

Also if I am not mistaken it's the pressure from the water that makes the Beckett function really. So it seems as though attempting to put water in it would decrease the pressure and therefore decrease efficiency.

the pump would have to be after the venturi/beckett to help.

and while that might be debatable if then it would help(easy enough to reroute Id suppose)... in the meantime I think it would compromise its ability to provide adequate pressure and hurt your cause anyway.

Very valid points guys,
I guess I won't be going that route...

Na, the becketts require pressure to operate. The modified dart won't work at all in this application.

Fwiw, there isn't a mod that can make the MR-2R any better than it already is. Many people have tried, all have failed!

Mkay,
Not even some riser tubes?

Risers will increase the dwell time, this increasing the capacity of the skimmer. These are available from MRC, so not really a mod, but more of an "upgrade"; similar to a second injector on an MR-2. A standard riser converts the unit into an MR-3

What size is your system? Or should I ask, what size is the system that this particular skimmer is being utilized on? :D

24" riser on the MR2-R
Running a 225gal display, 135gal sump and 70gal refugium.

Wow, that makes the skimmer about 50" or so! You're using a dart to power it?

Yup, dart for recirc...
What would my favorite manufacturer rate that beast?

I'd say around 700g or so.
