I just a new frogspawn coral about 5 days ago or so. I came home tonight and saw a red legged crab (not a scarlet crab - which was sold to me as a blue legged crab) on the coral. The coral is retracted while the parts that were not looked "popped". I am under the assumption that the crab was picking at it. Does anyone know if that could be what happened? Or what kind of crab it is?

It is hard to say what kind of crab it is without looking at it. I've never heard of a crab eating frogspawn...it may have been trying to clean it or eat some algae that was on it. Regardless, can you remove the crab to the sump?

I don't have a sump but I did remove the crab from the tank.
I wish I had a digital camera so I could post a picture of the crab...
