It's about the size of a small zoanthid polyp and is very pink. What is it? If it's bad, I'll nuke it.

looks like it could be a mojano. When in doubt kill it.

I've had those little things before. Not sure what they are.. Don't they it is a majano. but i've been wrong once this year so... never know

I think I have a couple. I was told they were glass anemones. Suppost to be harmless so I haven't messed with them.

Glass anemone is another name for aptasia.....

See it sort of resembles a cup coral as well with the little balls at the end of the tentacles.

The worry is that it's majano because it looks like it's spreading at the base...

It's on a small rock with a patch of zoas on it in a specimen container right now. I may just remove the zoas from the rock.

The rock was dipped in fresh water, but no Joe's Juice. So far it's staying pink.

If you have the means and the patience, quarantine and grow it out if you think it's a coral. I'm certain you don't have to be told with your experience but, if not, it ain't worth the risk.

Hackman, you're right. At the moment, my zoa tank has only 1 aiptasia. No other major pests... no way am I taking a chance.

After taking out the rock, I poked it with a skewer... It has a white mouth in the center. LOL, it is not happy. I can say that the small pink blobs surrounding it are the same kind of tissue.

Figured it would be easy to break the rock apart but since it's after midnight and my nephew is over, I'm just going to remove the zoas from the rock.

Right on the money. I have seen some really beautiful ones before, but kill it as soon as possible

Well, I just removed the zoanthids off the majano rock. I'm dipping the zoas and putting them on a frag plug. The majano rock will be going to sit outside for a while.

One thing I must admit... I love the macro setting on my camera. I've gotten some nice close-up shots of hitchhikers!

My macro setting is a POS. Camera takes good pics but, I wanted some zoom in close shots of some things and it loses focus. Speaking of hitchhikers anyway, how are the snails doing?? Ever get a firm ID on them?

There's a certain point when I zoom in that the camera goes out of focus. I just bring it back a little and refocus until the foreground is clear. Really frustrating though.

No firm ID, but I did post a photo of a shell I found when I went digging in the sand. Whatever is producing the baby snails, it appears they're on batch two of babies. There's one on my glass right now that's 1/3 the size of the bigger ones! I've also caught them on top of polyps that were starting to collect cyano again. Seems like they cleaned the cyano off the polyps because the polyps are open now. Freaky. :eek:

You may want to do a little more breeding on those boogers. Might be a cyano eating gold mine there...lol.
