Yours can probably be repaired... inspect the volute and impeller. If the volute is cracked, it can cause the pump to be noisy, as well as if there's debris inside the pump - which can also damage the impeller.

Replacement parts = lots cheaper than a new pump.

i looked and it looked ok, jenn, did you get any coral frenzy in?

also, i'd actually like to get a new pump AND repair this one. that way I can have a spare.
