I've been using the green 5 gallon jugs from Walmart. They are tall and skinny and I would like to stay with that general shape. I've now had two leak on me, so its time to change it up. Any recommendations?

I think they were used for syrup or something food grade. I think they're 5gallons, might be worth a search. ericmcj31 09-28-2009, 8:49 PM Home depot has those 5g jugs for like $2-3...but most on here would prob. give you some jugs if you just asked...I know at one time I had several laying around...now my stock has dwindled some, but I'm sure lots of others have extras. AquariumsUnlimited 09-28-2009, 8:54 PM I have a bunch for free I posted last week, they are still available. Feel free to PM me if you would like them. The shape needs to similar, to fit in the space I'm using. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IW6IY/ref=s9_simz_gw_s0_p79_t4?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1787AEZ7ZN7EH1QJB7FB&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 Scrilla 09-28-2009, 10:54 PM Home depot has those 5g jugs for like $2-3... But you must buy the lid separate from the bucket, they can both be found in the HD paint department. I know the Homer bucket price online and in store is the same, the lid is $0.98 on top of that. vista 09-29-2009, 1:01 PM you might look at Petsmart (Food Storage Container). I bought mine thin & tall for top-off water container AndyMan 09-29-2009, 3:16 PM http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?p=396504#post396504 Amici 09-29-2009, 4:35 PM You can also buy camping water jugs. I picked up a couple 5 g jugs that even have a handle on them. AugustaSalty 09-30-2009, 3:48 PM I use my old salt buckets. I use oceanic salt and the lid has an o-ring around the top, keeps it ALMOST water tight. If you give it a good jarring it will dribble a little. Best part is, they're free. They also hold about 7 gallons of water. |
