Just a few things I've picked up recently...

Tank - 60 Gallon Marineland Cube (Custom drilled through the Bottom with Center Overflow) Quality is TOP NOTCH!

Lighting - LumenMax Elite Mogul Base Reflector
Blue Wave 1 Ballast (On Backorder)

Flow - Mag 7 Return Pump

Still need alot of things before I can get a Build Started, but will need some help deciding on some of them so I figured I would start a thread!

Need suggestions:

Sump - Might try a DIY just not sure yet...
Heater - any suggestions
Controller - Thinking of going with the RK Lite w/ SM2
Flow - No idea yet... Maybe a couple Vortech MP10's
Skimmer - Leaning heavily toward the MRC OF200
Various other things - Just throw me your suggestions.

Get a single 40 instead of 2 10s or 20s.

Titanium heater.

RKL sounds good.

Sump...PM jeff.mcphail and have him make you one, you can get exactly what chambers you want and what size you want.

Skimmer...anything from MRC is top notch.

What bulb are you going with? and what size?

Looks good to me. I agree on the 40.....or maybe check out the tunze nano wavebox.

oh yeah, get a 40. I've got one in my cube on reefcrest and it's nuts. SPS love it!

WoW so far everbody suggests the MP40.. Let me explain my thinking when I say 2-MP10's.. The Tank has a Center Overflow against the back glass, and due to the location I'm going to be putting the tank I need to be able to place the Vortechs on eitherside of the Overflow. The way I look at it 2 MP-10s is the same Flow and Price as a single MP 40. Does that make any since?

au01st - I guess I forgot to mention the Bulb because I just haven't picked one up yet.. I'm definately going with a 20K Radium!

I think that one 40 will do just a good as the two 10s and give you the opportunity to support wireless in the future if you upgrade. OR atleast get 20s so you can upgrade the dry side in the future if you want to.

plus if you ever get a bigger tank in the future. I've got a MP40 in my 24" cube and love it. It provides flow everywhere. At least get two 20's

So is there really that a big a diffrence in the MP40 opposed to 2 MP10's Same flow for the same price. For some reason I just keep thinking that placing the MP40 on the back glass on one side of the overflow will restrict the flow that the other side of the tank actually gets. Maybe I just need someone to show me the best placement..

Those suckers have a WIDE flow pattern.

But Charlie, won't that wide flow pattern be broken up by the Center overflow if I place it on the Back glass facing forward say on the left side of the Overflow, wouldn't the Right side suffer?

I can say that I have a 72 gallon bow front and the one MP40 that I have is on one side of the overflow, which is more to one side of the tank than the other, and the side that has the overflow gets very little flow.

Just my experience.

I honestly doubt it on reef crest. It pulses and give such wide, random flow that I really doubt you will have any dead spots IMO.

Let the Conflicting Opinions Begin!!! LOL!

The flow is huge and the undertow of the pump drawing in all the water needed is nuts too. My Vortech is on the left side of my tank towards the front and towards the top of the tank. It's nuts with the flow all over the tank. There is one slow flow spot and my returne pump takes care of that. I think you'll be happy with one MP40 for real. If you want 2 then just get another MP40 down the road and throttle them back. But you'll have a bad *** pump for when you get a larger tank IMP.
