Anyone here have any experience with machining metal?

I have a lab/college quality B&L microscope I picked up off Craigslist (for all of $75) and was thinking I could get a mount for my digital camera similar to what this website details: http://www.truetex.com/micad.htm

My camera has a 52mm female thread mount available so I could do something similar to capture digital microscope photos.

Have you tried emachineshop.com (http://emachineshop.com/)? I've been itching to make something through them, but haven't had a project that needed it yet.

if you have a lathe, i can make it, just dont have a lathe, or maybe contact your local high school with a vocational department, if they have a metal working class, you can usually get them to tackle the project, its fun for them and educational.
