Lundberg 08-27-2009, 11:41 PM Very cool... bobz 08-27-2009, 11:42 PM Sweet! Really nce pic too! Smoothie 08-28-2009, 1:34 AM Nice bro! My buddy just lost his. He fed it nothing but krill for a little over a year and it turns out there is a fat in it that can cause lock jaw if it builds up in the fishes system for long periods. Another reason we all keep the diets varied right? mysterybox 08-28-2009, 1:49 AM excellent. AndyMan 08-28-2009, 7:20 AM Nice bro! My buddy just lost his. He fed it nothing but krill for a little over a year and it turns out there is a fat in it that can cause lock jaw if it builds up in the fishes system for long periods. Another reason we all keep the diets varied right?I tried giving him krill, ate it and then spat it out, prefers brine and mysis JennM 08-28-2009, 8:29 AM Mysis has a lot of fat too - but varied works ;) If he gets stuck on one kind of food, you can always spike it with vitamins/amino acids. He's too cute. What's his name again? Your wife told me but I forgot. Jenn AndyMan 08-28-2009, 8:49 AM "Arthur" (don't ask) JennM 08-28-2009, 8:50 AM I knew it was an "A" but couldn't remember the rest. Senior moment... James S. 08-28-2009, 9:38 AM cool fish, ive had a few of them over the years..eventually they will eat everything you throw in the tank, including flakes... Rbredding 08-28-2009, 10:25 AM did I miss the name of the fish... (could you humor a noob) JennM 08-28-2009, 10:30 AM It's a dwarf fuzzy lionfish (Dendrochirus brachypterus). Page 71 of Scott Michael's Marine Fishes Pocket Guide. Jenn Rbredding 08-28-2009, 10:44 AM is that the best pocket guide to get? I'm looking for one... JennM 08-30-2009, 1:32 PM A Pocket Expert Guide to Marine Fishes by Scott Michael. We use that every day and have a well-worn copy on the front counter. He also wrote on for Reef Fishes - I like that one too. Easy to use, reasonably accurate and you can know quickly if the specimen you're considering is appropriate. Easy to take on the road too - it's a small (but thick) book. Jenn bclark7169 08-30-2009, 5:22 PM cool fish and nice pic also |
