The new Ford Fusion is a very well designed car. We got our second one in and this one is going to one of the gm techs. First one came in and it sold before it was unloaded off the truck. It's got a little pep too.:D

The new SHO's are supposed to be really sweet.

unfortunately I fear their reputation will take years of quality to build back to where it needs to be. took the japanese a decade of so of building competitive cars before americans accepted them.

I'm really surprised how far Ford has come in the last few years. I drove a new 09 F-150 the other day and it drove like a cadillac. But, if I ever buy another Ford, ill be kicked out of the family.:lol2:

Yeah that car went from a less than desirable vehicle to a slick looking car.

I'd buy a Ford truck any day, those have typically been up on quality. Their cars on the other hand....pretty rough. They have come a long way though and it's really nice to see that.

Looking foward to america's #1 rental car coming back. SHO Taurus looks sweet. I have a 97 bull in the garage that I beat around in sometimes. Can't really break the thing

The camaro is a fun car to drive if you are 5'8" or smaller. Killed my neck when I hopped in one of my customer's

I dont know about nationally...but "Cash for Clunkers" has left us with about 70 clunkers. Over half of them are Ford/LM! (no lie). Most of them are Explorers. The runner-up would be Dodge/Chrysler/jeep products.

I appreciate their recent efforts... but hey have some work to do before they get any of my money.

Oh yeah...all the clunkers above were traded in for HONDA's. Those folks will never buy go domestic again. (Unless they want a truck:yes:)

Well that's not good. I love the look but I don't think it would be the best ride for a new mom to a 6 month old and a 100+ pound bulldog that goes almost everywhere with me. Oh well atleast there pretty lol

We have two 3 on order. A red one which should be here any day. A black one that keeps getting pushed back and a yellow one that is already sold to a customer in Cochran.

My family currently owns 3 Fords, and we have been loyal customers for years. My Ford Ranger ran for 12 years before I sold it, and our 94 Aerostar is still going strong. We purchased stock back in March when it fell to almost $1 a share and it has outshined almost all other investments so far this year. I believe Ford makes good products, and am thrilled to hear good news about the new Fusion. I hope it does well, America needs a strong auto industry.

My first new vehicle was a 93 Ford Ranger 4cyl. 5 speed. 10 years and 280k with only a new clutch for repairs at about 160k. Then I bought a used 95 with 90k, set up same and now have 210k on it with only an alternator/clutch needed (did the clutch right after i bought it.) Still going strong.

We now have an 08 Mustang Convertible V6 (The wifes) and it is great. If a car is taken care of they will run a long time) There are exceptions though.

I have great luck with my Mustangs. Had an 87 GT with 255K miles with nothing but water pump under warranty and an alternator replaced. I have a 2001 Cobra that has no repairs under it's belt except for 2nd gear that I shelled with about 1000 miles on it but that was mostly my fault.

It is really sad that Detroit has alienated their customer base so badly. It really is their own fault. I don't think many people will be back unless Japan really messes up or America gets conscientious about sending all those profits across the ocean. Of course it isn't all bad, at least the US dealer network and a few factory workers are getting paid.

The other factor working against Detroit is that most Honda's and Toyota's on the road in this country are made in the USA by American workers using American parts and vendors. Import owners know this.

Detroits problem is not the work force. The American worker is the best in the world!

Where they fall short is vision... and the leadership to carry it out.

We traded our '01 Escape in for Cash for Clunkers, but it was only because it had 220,000 miles on it. It still ran fine, but we felt that was the only way to get any trade in value at all. We only had to replace a few sensors on it other that normal maintenance. We have another Escape and all we have had to do was replace the torque converter (I pulled a trailer that was way too big for it). Otherwise it's been perfect too. We're sticking with Fords for now since we've had good luck with them (and my BIL is a certified Ford mechanic; I think it was the Ford FACT program?). I like the Fusions too and have an '07 on hold at a dealership with 3,000 miles on it. Just waiting on insurance money now.
