I totally agree. I drove up there from Warner Robins (loooooong drive) Chris and his wife were the first 2 people I met about 3 weeks ago in the hobby. He was building someone a tank stopped what he was doing to explain all he could to me for about 5 or so hours....so whoevers tank he was building its my fault if he was late!

Oh yeah, and did I forget to mention that I have never met two business owners that are more willing to go out of their way to help out, educate, and go to whatever lengths necessary to ensure their customers are both successful and happy. I have been to lots of impressive and great LFS's but I assure you that I have never been to one that cares more about the hobby and their customers than Chris and Julie.

Thanks guys, many of the people in this club have made this hobby one of the biggest joys in my life. It is my pleasure to give a little guidance to new hobbiest and a bigger pleasure to learn from many of the seasoned members who have been in this hobby for much longer than I. We may not be the cleanest store in town and you might see a cricket here or there but its the fundamentals I stand behind and always will.

I have been shopping there since they opened and I have always had great experiences. My new tank as well as all my existing corals and fish came from there. Keep up the great work Chris and Julie!

Julie and Chris make you feel like family or their best friend when you come into their store. I am always get greeted with a "GLENNNN" when I enter. I get kind of jealous when I am in there awhile because everyone that comes in the door is treated the same way. They know almost everyone that walks in their door on a first name basis. Always willing to spend time with you. I am sure it is hard to plan your day when customers come in often and need expertise. I have been there numerous time when people bring in pets they bought elsewhere and are having issues. Like not eating or coloration not being right. They will give good advice, offer a helping hand and not care about making a dime. They began their business truly because of their love of their critters (Chris was more of a reptile kind of guy). But know he is a "reef dude" now.

I have been going to Fish Scales regularly for about two years now, and i can honestly state that me and my boyfriend (Thomas138) would never be where we are now with our tanks if it wasn't for Chris. Chris is by far the most passionate person about saltwater aquariums I have met and one of the most knowledgable. Not to mention he is the same way about reptiles. Thomas and I go to Fish Scales A LOT and have hung around there for several hours at a time just talking to Chris and Julie as well as learning as much as we can about our aquariums. Like I stated before Chris is extremely knowledgable and helpful, customer service is absolutely fantastic. He has made house calls to us before to lend us a hand and I know he does this for many people.

Basically,

THANK YOU CHRIS!!! Thomas and I would never be where we are with out you!

Fish Scales is a great place to get answers and product. Chris is very knowledgeable and will help you in any way he can. If you want to buy a fish or a part and he doesn't think it is right for you or the set up he will tell you. That is what separates him from a lot of other people who just want to make a sell.

I could not agree more.

Chris and Julie are have helped us out with so many things and worked with us to achieve what we want in our aquariums countless times. They have always been more then great and generous to us whether its aquarium related or not. I appreciate all they have done for us and look forward to visiting them alottt in the future.

All of my experiences with FishScales have been positive. I recently needed a tank drilled and Chris went out-of-his-way to help, offering suggestions on where to drill and what size would work best and then doing all of the work himself with such care - it felt like he was working on his own tank. I would highly recommend this store to anyone.

Just a Moderator note: singing the praises of Fishscales is fine, but any cross-reference to a Closed FishScales thread will be deleted, so use appropriate judgement when you type.

Chris and Julie have always went out of their way to help me with everything I have needed. If they don't have what I want, they will order it for me. Fish Scales is not there to rip anybody off and I honestly don't think they care about the profits as much as they care about the people that come in their store. Chris and Julie are some of the most honest and trustworthy people I know and I would have no problem recommending them to anyone.

I've met Chris and Julie once and spoken with them on several occasions... They are the kind of folks who are in the business for the love of the product and the animals they work with.

Often, people are good in a business because they are good AT business and care about the industry they are in... there's a passion involved.

Chris and Julie are examples of people who love being in their line of business because they are passionate about what they do... and it helps to organically create good business practices with others who are entering/involved in their hobby.

To be perfectly clear on this:

There is a thread in the FishScales Forum that documents one Member's negative experience. This is it:

http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38771

The decision was made that the above thread will be viewable, but be closed except for posts by FishScales, Bad76Boy, BoD, and Moderators.

I was trying to not blatantly mention the other thread in this postive thread about Fishscales.

There have already been three posts commenting on the other thread in this thread, cross-referencing the thread that is closed.

These posts, intentional or otherwise, attempt to circumvent the decision by the BoD and the Moderation that has been done in the closed thread. This is not allowed and is against Forum Rules, which every Member and User agrees to abide by when we sign up to participate in these Forums.

Any posts like this in this thread, this forum, or anywhere else on the ARC Website will be deleted as necessary.

Clear enough for you?
