View Full Version : Not getting email notifications of thread responses Acroholic 07-19-2009, 3:52 AM I used to get an email notification when a thread I was participating in got a posting. My User CP is set for instant email notification, but it is not happening. Just started yesterday. Dave Dakota9 07-19-2009, 7:32 AM Check your settings in your User CP (top left of the blue Menu Bar). I know that's beside the point, the point being that it just happened for no reason. I used to have mine set for email notifications, but I chat on here so much, I was getting WAY too many emails. Thaks again, D Acroholic 07-19-2009, 8:19 AM I'm set for IM but not getting IM on subscribed threads. LilRobb 07-19-2009, 11:46 AM Hi Dave, You're not using Gmail, are you? My account decided last week that ARC emails are spam and never delivered them to my inbox. cr500_af 07-19-2009, 11:47 AM My yahoo mail decided the same thing. I disabled the funcion because all it did was fill up my spam folder. Acroholic 07-19-2009, 1:16 PM I'm on bellsouth.net and I don't have any response notifications on my email, in spam or otherwise. It is like the function on the ARC site just stopped working. I go to my list of subscribed threads, and next to those is says "instant", so they are set to instant messaging for new posts, and I am not receiving anything. I can see if the ARC got added toa list of blocked sites on my Trend Micro.......just checked....don't see anything. Dave ga_daisy 07-19-2009, 1:53 PM I was wondering about this myself. I've found that sometimes I get an alert email of a response to the posting but most of the time don't. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason either way. Acroholic 07-19-2009, 3:51 PM Well I just got an email notice of a response to the Coyote thread I started in the lounge....no setting on my User CP changed...we'll see if it was a hiccup in the system. Dave Leslie 07-19-2009, 7:35 PM I am on Bellsouth email and lately some seem to appear in my spam folder where others go right on through. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Acroholic 07-21-2009, 10:22 AM Update: I am getting sporadic notices, but only 1 or two. No rhyme or reason to it. One subscribed thread will send a notice, but another doesn't. And I have been pretty active posting the last day or so. mysterybox 07-21-2009, 11:42 AM what do you want for 30 bucks a year.....jeeze! LOL! Acroholic 07-21-2009, 2:07 PM what do you want for 30 bucks a year.....jeeze! LOL! :D Not complaining, but once you get used to receiving these notices, suddenly not getting them seems strange. I know you were j/k. Anyways, just a heads up. Could be a site issue, or maybe my email is wacky! mysterybox 07-21-2009, 2:35 PM FWIW, my emal notifications are workingjust fine through Charter then outlook, and through ATT then I-phone. Acroholic 10-23-2009, 5:34 PM Finally figured out why I was not getting notices to subscribed threads. I have been using Outlook Express for years now. I am an ATT internet subscriber, and ATT switched to Yahoo powered email a few weeks ago, and with the switch the ARC notices were getting marked as SPAM. I now access my email at ATT.net and just noticed that, so I have corrected the issue. Dave |
