now I know skimmers take a while to break it...
but I have a reef octopus recirculationg 110 for my 65...
I just hooked it up and it hasnt been on for even 5 mins...now when it gets broken in, will the bubble line become higher? right now it is no where near the collection cup.

I have one also. You have to excerise some patience. Set it about halfway of the neck of the collection cup and let it break in. If you keep messing with it the skimmer will runover. Take it easy. It will start to foam soon. Mine started to foam after 2 days on a new tank.

If you've got it overflowing to bucket or gallon jug, I suggest you get a bigger collection mechanism until it's broken AND "dialled" in

i have it hooked up to a gallon jug, but no water has even reached the collection cup...
