Just got the Bulk Reef Supply RODI set up. I got the "plus" one with the pressure gauge, dual TDS and the extra membrane for a water saver. As some know, the dirty water from the first membrane is plumbed into the second membrane. The result is saving of waste water. I tested it after setting it up and got 1 gallon of water in 15 minutes meaning about four gallons per hour or about 100 gallons over 24 hours. I also got 1.4 gallons of waste water over the same time. This is a major improvement over the traditional RODI.
I was concerned about the pressure as I as getting only about 40 PSI. After talking to the BRS guys, it was determined that the pressure is not that big of a deal since we have very clean water in Alpharetta. The city water is usually about 40 TDS. Due to the lack of pressure, I do lose some production as its a 150 GPD system. However, its not a big deal as I had a smaller one previously. So that means I am fine with out a booster pump. You would need a booster pump for dirty water or places with well water where there is a higher TDS.
So far I am pleased with the unit. It was on special with dual DI cannisters. It as essentially "plug and play". BRS said with the high quality water we have, the filters should last about 1 to 1.5 years based on my water production. Glad I upgraded as I should save a little on the water bill.:yay:
