I stopped by Marine Design Yesterday. They had a beautiful Beautiful Blue Mandarin with a nice round belly. Even though I have really been holding out for a female red mandarin to go with my male, I she looked so healthy I could not resist.

Well it turned out to be an excellent decsion. Tonight (just a bit over 24 hours after being released into my tank) they spawned. :wow2:

I can not remember the last time I saw a Mandarin in an aquarium store that was not already emaciated. I consider it to be a good find when I see a mandarin that is not past the point-of-no-return. The fact that you guys had a kept it in spawning condition is just down right unbelievable.

I do have to say that store really does impress me with the quality of their livestock and low prices after the discounts. And its REALLY close :) Its my new store of choice.

And another store has been added to my vacation must see list.

Well it turns out the egg's were not fertile. But she looks like they will spawn again tonight, perhaps they just need a bit more practice.

But I thought I might as well complete this thread with pictures of the fish. In the second picture you can really see how nice and round her belly is.
