Hello. I have been out for a while. Getting things back together. I need to order a clean up crew from an online vendor and just wondering if someone has already tracked down the best deals out there.
Thanks.
Thanks.

View Full Version : best clean up crew prices akula 06-25-2009, 6:51 PM Hello. I have been out for a while. Getting things back together. Thanks. mojo 06-26-2009, 9:18 AM Thread "restarted" per user request. Please keep this thread strictly on topic. Fish Scales2 06-26-2009, 9:28 AM Welcome back. Here is a link for a pretty decent deal. You will find that a few of the new stores around town are owned and ran by hobbiest just like you and can and will hook you up even better than this. To bad http://www.ccritters.com/catalog/i43.html Chris 678-414-5648 akula 06-26-2009, 10:42 AM Thank you for the recommendation. blu_devl_06 06-26-2009, 10:59 AM Petco has ok package deals....http://www.petco.com/product/101417/Cleaner-Package.aspx?CoreCat=certona-_-ProductList__3-_-Cleaner%20Package-101417 I do offer price matching, send a screenshot, including shipping, when you find what you are looking for. I will be glad to help you. akula 06-26-2009, 11:05 AM Currently this place seems to have the best deal based on number of items and free shipping , no box fee. http://www.reeftopia.com/Reeftopiaspecials.html Algae Control Critters Special 36 Turbo Snail {astrae}, 12 Med Blue Leg Hermits, 12 Scarlet Reef Hermits, 4 Emerald Crab, 6 Nerite Snails, 6 Cerith Snails and 2 Star Snail. Free Shipping & Box. You may purchase additional items along with this special and get free shipping & box for those items as well. Price: $99.00 this is the all in price and averages out to 1.26 per item. seems to be a good mix. akula 06-26-2009, 11:43 AM Petco does have some interesting packages. I would not have bothered to check there assuming they are too generic of a store. Thank you for the link. if that qualified for their free shipping I think that would have been the one I would have sprung for. Cleaner Package- 50 gallons SKU: 1034499 The Cleaner Package- 50 gallons includes the following: 20 Cerith Snails, 10 Nerite Snails, 10 Margarita Snails, 2 Sand Sifting Starfish, 10 Red Leg Hermit Crabs, 10 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs, 2 Medium Cleaner Shrimp and 2 Arrow Crabs. $119 but has a nice mix when considering the shrimp and arrow crabs. The deal breaker is the exclusion of live fish from their current free shipping offers. and there will be tax on that as they have stores everywhere and so collect tax automatically. I feel I am willing to spend around 100 dollars for a well mix of items. I do like diversity of items rather than just a bulk pile of the same things. Size doesn't matter to me, I will take small sizes and watch them grow rather than pay for larger specimens. Just have to find the right combo of critters and price. Dartfrog 06-26-2009, 12:00 PM Try out this place: http://www.reefcleaners.org (http://www.reefcleaners.org) They offer discounts too akula 06-26-2009, 12:50 PM thanks I put in a request for their custom designed cuc and prices + shipping look good. Dartfrog 06-26-2009, 1:09 PM During checkout use code "reefclub". You might get a 25% discount. I know it is good for the kentucky reef society (I live in Ky now), don't know about other clubs though. HN1 06-26-2009, 1:10 PM Petco does have some interesting packages. I'd avoid any packages that include sand sifting stars based on what I've heard about keeping them alive. Just my 2 cents. akula 06-26-2009, 1:28 PM yes I have various stars in the tank already so I dont need more. Thank you for the discount code. 25% off is huge considering their prices already. Dartfrog 06-26-2009, 3:20 PM Did you place an order from http://www.reefcleaners.org (http://www.reefcleaners.org) ? If so, let me know how everything turned out. I was going to be buying from them soon but haven't placed an order yet. anomaly 06-26-2009, 3:26 PM I like reefcleaners and reeftopia. chefrepo 06-26-2009, 8:50 PM Try this one. I have no personal experience however have heard great reviews. http://www.garf.org/index.shtml weaglereefer 06-26-2009, 8:53 PM I actually got my whole clean up crew from eBay for $85 shipped. 50 blue legs 10 scarlets 4 mexican turbos 30 astrea 20 nerite 20 nassarius 50 cerith 2 brittle stars (both very large, 10"+ each) 1000 pods for seeding This was before I found this site so I had very limited LFS access, but still a good deal. akula 06-26-2009, 9:48 PM I would not have thought about checking e bay. Thanks. But I didnt see any package like you got. weaglereefer 06-26-2009, 9:51 PM It wasn't a package. I cherry picked the things I wanted. I'll see if I can dig up the seller's name when I get home. But s/h for everything listed was about $30 from FLA overnight, double bagged in styrofoam boxes with warming pads. Most of the items came in set quantities, like the blue legs were sold by the 25, so I got 2 orders. The turbo snails were sold in pairs, the other snails were sold in 10s, and the ceriths were sold in 50s. weaglereefer 06-26-2009, 9:53 PM Here is the seller's site, though his prices seem a bit higher than when I ordered. I think I only paid like $6 for 1000 pods. akula 06-26-2009, 9:57 PM ok i see how you did it. i did see the individual items. |
