but not our Internet connection. Strange.

Should be back up shortly. I'm here, even though I'm "not answering"!

cable internet?

I hear the power went out at home... I suspect there may be wet floors when I return...

I need a bigger sump :(

if you had VOIP, you could forward to that number and be business as usual.
just a thought. :)

Nope, DSL through the phone lines. I checked with the shop next door, their phone lines are out too, but they don't have internet. There's power in the phone, but no dial tone.

I called the shop line from my cell - gets a busy signal. The bill is paid and the check cleared LOL so I'm sure it's a storm-related thing - it blew through here pretty hard and fast although the sun is trying to shine now. I suspect points east of here are getting now or have just had it blow through.

It was pretty intense.

LOL Maybe I don't wanna talk to anybody anyway! (Just kidding, folks!!!)

With the cost of the phone service these days, it's tempting to just get a Magic Jack and be done with it... but I don't think I could port the number.

72 here right now. It cooled off fast, but I don't think it was that warm to begin with. At least the parking lot isn't steaming like it usually does after a fast rain/temperature drop.

I just called my home phone (I live 1/2 mile from the shop) - busy signal there too. Must be the whole area. Hardly ever use the land line there and there's call waiting - so I'm sure it's on the blink too.

My brother lives off Tonigh, up near Cagle's Dairy. He lost power briefly, but it's back on up his way. Hopefully they'll get yours back on soon.

Yeah it flickered here but came back up right away. The phone died just before the power did, but it didn't come back. The storm was very close - the hair on the back of my neck stood up right before the power flickered - and the thunder and lightning overlapped so it was right on top of us.

Some neat horizontal rain too :) LOTS of it. Our parking lot always floods because the storm drain can't keep up.
