Cool thing JT,

wonder how you gonna plumb the closed loop through the bottom - let us know.
I am thinking closed loop on the 225 - but plumbed through the backwall.

i am thinking now to put risers with pvc and an inlet screen then run the returns over the top in the hood facing the back of the tank, maybe.

was about to ask the same thing???

jt955
05-20-2009, 10:58 PM
the left side is going to be cabinet space, the tank only actually goes to the part that does have braces. then cabinets will go up to the top of the canopy.

woodworking lessons learned
1 wood glue takes a long time to dry.
2 no, you don't have enough clamps.
3 yes a 1/16 of an inch does make a difference.

but i am making progress, letting the glue dry on the back panel, am starting on the front tomorrow. also found the doors i am going to use.

When I work with wood I have to add: 4) There should not be the phrase "that's square enough".

I love how the kitchen looks like a work shop, reminds me of my place when I was single. What do you mean no garage? That's it, move everything to the kitchen, air compressor and all.

Your tank is coming along nice, keep us posted.

Only way to answer this question is for you to list what you will run off this circuit. Personally, since you are running a circuit anyway, run two. I'm running all the stuff for my 90g off one 20amp but, I think if i tried to power up everything at once, it'd blow that breaker.

Probably overkill but on my build I ran two 20a circuits. I mean...while you at it, if your gonna do one you might as well do two.
The theory for me was I could split my lights and powerheads off on separate circuits. If one GFCI trips...you will only lose power to half the lights and flow and may prevent a catastrophe if out for a prolonged period.
Just my .02.

Nice build!!!

If you are going to run romex it is just as easy to pull 12/3 as 12/2. You will just need to be sure that the circuits are not the same phase and they can share the neutral. So for a LITTLE more money you have cheap insurance...

went to pick up my pumps from my lfs. the current list

1x mrc cr-2 calcium reactor with regulator and tank
2x blueline 70 hd pumps
3x 400 watt lumenarc reflectors, sockets, and ballasts

now i just need the oceans motion super squirt, if anyone knows a sponsor that carries them let me know.

LilRobb
08-05-2009, 8:54 PM
Did you buy the HD70's NEW?

08-05-2009, 8:58 PM
by the way how is your pile going for the 225?

LilRobb
08-05-2009, 9:03 PM
mh,
guess no need to ask whether you wanna trade a 70 for a 55 and some $$$ then - I need to up my skimmer recirc pump...

The 'pile' is gigantic - The car is parked in the driveway with the double garage being FULL with tank stuff.
I need to sell of my stuff ASAP - as I have certain things in triplicate already (400W ballasts anyone LOL)

jt955
08-05-2009, 9:09 PM
probably not, plan on running one as closed loop through a super squirt, and one as a return, but also feeding the fuge reactor, and skimmer.
