Please excuse the cloudy look, the glass needed wiping down, but we could not miss the photo opportunity.
Enjoy.:D

+2! Absolutely stunning! Great job and I LOVE the jawfish.
texhorns98 04-30-2009, 2:07 PM Excuse the cloudy look? PLEASE!! If you think yours is messy, I would hate for you to come within 10 feet of mine!
Where did you pick up your jawfish? That's the fish I got into this hobby for, actually...I just haven't picked one up yet. Do you mind me asking how much he was?
GordoB 04-30-2009, 2:46 PM What an awesome tank and beautiful fish! Very impressive!

theplantman 04-30-2009, 4:46 PM I got it at fishscales for 105.00 after arc discount. He brought them in special for me. When I was there two weeks ago Chris still had one left.

Sweet tank :like:
cr500_af 04-30-2009, 9:02 PM What is the correct name for the coral he's "leaning" on? What I mean is, not the latin, but also not the "Nuclear Iced Lemonade" name that it might be referred to. :D

The suncoral? Tubastraea
theplantman 04-30-2009, 9:56 PM Yep, Sun Coral it is. During the day, nothing but pink tubes, but when food goes in the water, they open wide for the rest of the evening.

theplantman 04-30-2009, 10:06 PM Thanks Barry,
By the way, did you get my email about the item for Mark's care package?

To tell the truth, no. I saw your post, but checking my email hasn't happened yet. I'll check it before I hit the sack tonight.
Seriously though, that's a nice setup. I've got a number of frags growing, and a couple of (cheap) colonies, but I'm starting to think it will be years before my tank looks like it has a decent amount of coral in it. I've been on the lookout for some colonies of something other than green, but haven't had much luck... at least not for what the ole' pocketbook can handle. I think the only thing to do is quit watching looking for growth... kind of like watching for water to boil. It just seems to take forever.
theplantman 04-30-2009, 10:24 PM I understand completely. The wife and I basically went to different LFS Stores every weekend for the past 3 months hunting for deals for all our large pieces. We started stocking our first corals in Late January.
We lucked out with some great deals on frags from Jin and Rit in February and found the sun coral from another arc member as well as the GSP.
The last thing I am trying to figure out a way to fit in is a nice Acan or Blasto. Unfortunately that might mean selling either the brain or fox coral we have to make room.
Cant decide if its worth it though.
mysterybox 04-30-2009, 10:24 PM excellent!
coolsurf 04-30-2009, 10:29 PM I love the Blue Spot as well as the rest of the tank. Verrry nice looking.
Akopley 04-30-2009, 10:44 PM great tank.
Fish Scales2 04-30-2009, 10:55 PM Dibs on the Brain. LOL
Your tank is truly amazing!!! Nice to see "The Muffin Man" all settled in.
theplantman 04-30-2009, 11:07 PM Thanks Chris,
He is doing great and has been very easy to keep thus far. Eating like a champ and digging like one too.
No interaction problems with our Red Sea Mimic either. they both have their caves, him at the bottom and the blenny more towards the middle/top.
atreyu917 05-01-2009, 8:38 AM That sun coral and jawfish are so beautiful. Love the tank
