View Full Version : Live Rock
Fish Scales2 04-25-2009, 9:55 AM In addition to the Fiji and Tonga Rock that I offer at $4.99 ($3.99 for ARC members) I recieved 100# of Aquacultured Florida Keys rock, it is covered in several types of coral, I do not know exactly what type the corals are but some are pink and some are white. $8.99 or $6.99 for members. This rock is very porous and totally cured.

parsonsaj 04-25-2009, 8:53 PM +1 for this rock. I didn't really need any more rock in my tank, but Chris hand picked a couple small pieces for me. I'll find somewhere to jam it in there! Super, lightweight, covered with life rock. Thanks Chris!
bclark7169 04-26-2009, 1:42 AM It is some really great looking rock
Just picked up a few pounds of this rock. It is grade A stuff, very full of color and life. Very pleased with this purchase!:D

LilRobb 04-26-2009, 10:57 PM AWESOME stuff,
Chris picked me a real nice piece with some live coral on it - it's already in my tank and all polyps are out and it is doing just fine.
I definitely know what I will get for the 225 setup now...
solargrin 04-29-2009, 10:36 PM I too picked up a small piece of it today from him. I got a very nice piece with coral and sponge all over it. I too hope to be able to put this in a new tank soon.
Fish Scales2 04-30-2009, 11:31 AM An additional 200# of Aquacultured live rock came up yesterdays from the keys and is even better than last weeks shipment.:D
Mockery 04-30-2009, 11:32 AM YEAH!! I'll be up there sometime tomorrow!

Is this what I got from you yesterday, Chris?
If so, the larger piece is covered up in some small yellow polyps. I didn't even see them in the store but they started coming out about 2 hours after I got it in the tank.
This is in addition to the corals with the clear polyps.
Both pieces of rock are beautiful and covered up in corals!
Fish Scales2 05-02-2009, 5:32 PM That would be it, we were just digging through the rock and I located an orange cup and encrusting Monti as well. Into the 300 they go.
stacy22 05-02-2009, 6:54 PM ****, now I gotta drive to Flowery Branch :D

LOL, well I'm not going to make it any easier. Here's a picture of one of the rocks - the one with yellow polyps all over it. Be sure to enlarge it to see them better.

STOP IT ALREADY! :D That's a great piece, BTW. What are the approximate dimensions of that rock?

Arrrrgh, you would ask me that question! I'm lousy at this, but I'd guess about 10 inches by 8 inches. I bought the smaller rocks because I didn't need anything large, but he had great big ones down to small pieces.
Lots of orange sponge, a tan coral with white and clear polyps, and the yellow polyps have all surfaced since I put them in the tank yesterday.
Oh yeah, and one of the red tube worms, too!
atreyu917 05-02-2009, 8:26 PM I got some frm him last week and one of the pieces has a huge spot of the orange sponge
zavala83 05-02-2009, 8:31 PM I got some last week as well. It is some great looking rock. I don't have antmore room for anymore. Thanks Chris. You have been a great help since day one!!!
