Fellow reefers,

so today was the big day to pick up that 330g tank (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27722).

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4006/cimg1190.jpg

Thanks to everybody who helped with this:
(in no specific order)

cr500_af (Barry)
tgray3 (Tom)
JT955 (JT) + his buddy
Ramone (Glenn)
FishScales2 (Chris)
Grimreefer (Tracy)

Getting there a tad bit late - the North side crew had already figured everything out.
What was supposed to be a 330g is really only a 225. (72x24x30) - I have no problems with that - actually helping with the suspected lighting/heat issues.

Chris inspected the tank (see picture below) and confirmed what I said from the beginning, patching that crack up would be a piece of cake and not worth the trouble going through rebuilding the entire system.
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/7135/cimg1191.jpg

So with Tracys truck we were able to load the entire thing (stand, tank and canopy) and haul it home.

It's sitting in the garage right now, and will probably not be set up before August - which is when we're moving to a new house with a basement that will be entirely dedicated to my saltwater addiction.

Thanks for all the help guys.

PS: Tracy, will I see another build thread for that 50gal coming up here? LOL

Robb, glad I could help, it went alot easier than I was expecting. You had plenty of help and it was a nice day. Also that is a great size tank, I still think it would look really awesome in my wall.

And yes on the 50gal build. I'm just not sure what I want to do with yet, maybe just a nice Lion Fish or something. I'll let you know.

I was talking about the one of me in the back of the truck... I didn't realize it was that bad! I guess after shaving my head so long I lost track of what my hairline was doing.

Nice point Simon! My 180 is upside down collecting dust as I type and will be until sometime next year.

Robb, When you are ready to move you have my number just give me a day or so notice and I can help since you are almost going to be my neighbor.

UPDATE!
I am out of the country for a couple of weeks again, but once back I could use quite a bit of help getting this bad boy drilled for the closed loop and moved to its final location.
So, fellow ARC'ers and Acworthians - PM me for details.
We'll have lotso Paella and beer....

OK, all you folks who offered to help... the tank move is this Sunday, 1:00 pm or so. So far we have Eric, me, Rob and probably Ansley. We'll need two more probably, but since we'll also be moving a stocked 55g I understand, any extras would be helpful. The trucks are in place, just need bodies. Rob will be back in town late Thursday night.

Last time Rob bought pizza and beer for all helpers. This year it will be filet mignon. He just doesn't know it yet!

Okay Ladies n Gentlemen,

Time for a shoutout!

Thanks go to Eric, Barry, Ansley, Colin and Cliff for lending not only a hand but a whole arm with my tank move.
I truely appreciate all the selfless help I received - be it a HD run at 949pm or countless weeks of tank sitting before the move.
You guys made the move a full success with virtually no losses.
I am glad I found friends that I can really count on and that share the same hobby.
Guys, whenever you need me - please don't hesitate just one second, call me and I'll be there.

Pictures to follow soon - we still don't have internet at the house.

Robb

...And I am 100% sure with future leaders like you guys (Ansley and Barry) - we will be moving in the right direction.
Their dedication to the hobby is beyond any comparison.
- just wanted this to be known.

Eric B

It was all good would have bleed more if Rob would not have mentioned it because I never felt anything. Just wish we could have videoed the siphoning of water by Cliff on Saturday and that it took Robb & Cliff about an hour and a half to build a frag rack for the 40 gal tank and myself laughing at them the whole time. Both were priceless!!!!

Robb you need to see if Cliff has the flu or pneumonia yet!!!

I try and do things like this to show my thanks to you guys that have helped me when I needed help.. Its just what friends to for each other..

Water is in the tank!!!

Pretty much 6month late - but it's done!

Leak testing for the next 2 weeks - then replacing the water with RODI and salt.
Closed loop is plumbed - last thing is to get overflows plumbed and return pump hooked up.
One thing to figure out is how I can attach locline to 1.5" bulkheads without losing too much flow. Anyone?
