I love sexies! :yay:  :yay: Dakota9 03-23-2009, 11:10 PM Really not what Iwas expecting, but very nice all the same.... HN1 03-23-2009, 11:19 PM Very nice! I think I want a few more.... Derek_S 03-23-2009, 11:23 PM There is a thin line between sexty and trashy.... And I'm sorry, but that is just trashy. I am ashamed. Tell that invert to put something on and get that crap off her face. ZDaytonaRoadster 03-23-2009, 11:39 PM Most misleading but not really..thread title ever Soarin' 03-24-2009, 12:20 AM Nice pic ... I knew what was coming, though! I'd like to get me some sexy shrimp too -- a little worried that they might eat my zoos if I go on vacation and can't feed them a lot while I'm gone, but I think I will get some nonetheless. Thanh386 03-24-2009, 12:25 AM Do these get big? or do they remain tiny? Cause I would like some but my wrasses would just have a expensive snack. Appaloosa1224 03-24-2009, 12:44 AM They stay tiny! I've had mine for 1.5 years and she's no bigger than an inch. For size comparison, here she is on a frogspawn. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f196/Appaloosa1224/Solana/041-1.jpg Fisherwoman 03-24-2009, 5:57 AM I have 3 that have lived happily with a 6 line for a while now. They are lots of fun to watch. ericmcj31 03-24-2009, 6:49 AM I was ready for this one--but still NICE, JP JessPete 03-24-2009, 8:54 AM Nice pic Alison! Derek, now that's some funny .... stuff. lol HN1 03-24-2009, 9:51 AM Nice pic ... I knew what was coming, though! I'd like to get me some sexy shrimp too -- a little worried that they might eat my zoos if I go on vacation and can't feed them a lot while I'm gone, but I think I will get some nonetheless. I've been travelling routinely and have been fasting the tank (I know, bad reefer) for a couple days a week. They've never bothered any zoas. Do these get big? or do they remain tiny? Cause I would like some but my wrasses would just have a expensive snack. They stay tiny, 1 - 1 1/2". What type of wrasses? I have a flasher wrasse with 3 sexies and all is well. bobz 03-24-2009, 9:57 AM I have been keeping five sexies in my 6G nano with my pair of Flaming Prawn Gobies. They are great little shrimps. I have never seen them eat and of the Zoanthids in the tank, but they will "host" on them and that keeps the zoas closed up some times. For the most part, they each have their own little space in the tank. One hosts in my ricordia, another in the frogspawn frag, one is in my scroll coral, one hangs out in a large purple mushroom and the last one hangs out on some zoas. They are usually in those spots but also move around the tank a good bit. They are really fun to watch. I have read that they do best in groups, and mine seem to be doing well. JessPete 03-24-2009, 10:18 AM I only have two and want some more. One of mine goes surfing up and down the glass on the back of a snail. weaglereefer 03-24-2009, 10:20 AM How much do these guys run? I'll be looking to get 5 soon. JessPete 03-24-2009, 10:21 AM eh, I guess I shoulda paid attention to that too. 15 maybe? atreyu917 03-24-2009, 10:29 AM I really want a nano just for these guys. haha. I figure they would definitely get lost in the 80 I'm building. tim8111 03-24-2009, 12:09 PM Sexy Shrimp will not eat zoas to my knowledge, however there are reports of them eating SPS if not fed enough. They are cool and work best in groups. I have them available for only $10. Thanks, Tim ace1204 03-24-2009, 1:51 PM They have been known to prey on Zoas if not fed well which is the reason i have yet to jump on some. In my next project tank they will be present bc it will all be frags from my main tank just in case. tim8111 03-24-2009, 2:17 PM The article I read talked about SPS over Zoas but who knows maybe they like both? Derek_S 03-24-2009, 2:23 PM My theory is that many animals will resort to eating many various things if hungry enough. Heck, I might even eat zoas or suck the polyps out of a sps skeleton if I was starving. bobz 03-24-2009, 2:40 PM My theory is that many animals will resort to eating many various things if hungry enough. Heck, I might even eat zoas or suck the polyps out of a sps skeleton if I was starving. I agree with what has been said about the possibility of eating coral polyps if they are hungry but in my experience, the shrimps will eat just about anything I put in the tank and love pellets, so there is no reason I can think of that would push them to the extreme unless of course you don't feed your tanks. In which case, stick to the pretty colored sticks! BZ texhorns98 03-24-2009, 3:09 PM Will they get along with other shrimp? I have a skunk cleaner and a fire in the 115 now. I would love to add 2 or 3 of these. My wife likes our shrimp the most out of anything in the tank! :) Tim, do you keep regular stock of them? Or do you have consistent access to them? tim8111 03-24-2009, 3:30 PM Will they get along with other shrimp? I have a skunk cleaner and a fire in the 115 now. I would love to add 2 or 3 of these. My wife likes our shrimp the most out of anything in the tank! :) Tim, do you keep regular stock of them? Or do you have consistent access to them? I have mine in with a pistol shrimp and my soon to be wife has kept them with a big fire shrimp. Not sure about the skunk cleaner. HTH LeeS 03-24-2009, 4:09 PM Dang Jess, gets me every time JessPete 03-24-2009, 5:25 PM lol. I have mine with a pistol. I wish I could buy like 20 to put in my 80 gallon...haha. I just wonder if anyone has them in a large tank and actually can keep track of them. |
