I do these from time to time. With the upcoming upgrade, I decided to see where we were with the number of people, postings, etc.

- We broke 1000 posts in one day for the first time a couple days ago on March 17 with 1022. We had come close several times before. Average number of new posts per day is around 500. It's very cyclical - Saturdays are usually lower and Mondays and Tuesdays are the hot ones.

- Interestingly, March 18 had more new threads in one day than any other - 67. We've hit 66 a number of times. Average is around 45

- About 370 registered users are on the site each day, and about 4-6 new users sign up each day (wow).

- In the past month, we've received 11,000 visits, just under 700,000 pageviews, with an average time of 11 mins on the site. In just the past month, we've been visited by people in 91 countries- surprisingly, some of those numbers in the dozens of visits per country.

- 16% of the total visits only visted the site once and left. Probably found the wrong site. 84% visited more than a dozen times. 30% visited over 200 times.

This has become a pretty busy site... :)

Awesome Chris... What other stats can you give us?!?

lol- the skills here are just reading a chart... :)

There's really not any other interesting stats. I wish I knew how to share some of the generated maps and stuff that I get the data from- I've tried, but they're just not setup for easy sharing.

Can't you just take a screenshot or something? Maybe you could share like that. Just a thought.

I would love to see the country break down if you get a chance Chris.

You'd miss all the cool mouseover effects. In particular, part of those stats come from Google, where they show a map, and you can roll over countries and it'll show you the number of visits from each country.

The only way I can think of is to create a dummy email address for viewing reports... you'd have to login to see them, but it should work... Trying now...

That's pretty cool -- what tool are you using to create the reports? Is it something your hosting service provides? I may want to install this on some sites I run.

vBulletin (the forum software we use) provides stats on the number of posts, threads, active logged in users, etc.

I use Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics/) for everything else- one of the most pain-free and easiest web site monitoring tools out there. The only con is that you have to put a little javascript at the bottom of each page. Not a huge deal, esp. if you have a dynamic site and can just add it to the footer, but some people don't like that. It's free - check it out.

Woohoo- I finally got access working for another account. For those interested in viewing most of our stats in real time, you can use this info.

Login to Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics/) using:
User: viewreports@atlantareefclub.org
Password: arcreports

When you're in, find the www.atlantareefclub.org (http://www.atlantareefclub.org) line in the middle of the page and click "View Report". From here- click on just about anything- this is a read-only account, so you shouldn't be able to screw anything up. There's a ton of information on here.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I used to geek on this when I was running a site so it's fun to check it out again!

One more stat for you all. Since 12/2/2008, 473 Spammer Registrations were blocked. That being said, a few slipped through...and some of the registration names are rather racy.

Very nice. For the last month, we've been viewed at least once by every state.
