View Full Version : Trigger Happy
JessPete 03-08-2009, 10:55 PM Our new blue jaw trigger, "Batman". He's shy and halides are off, so pics are god awful. (My camera sucks for tank pics anyhow)
First pic I forgot to turn off the flash, but lets you peek at his color.
Smoothie 03-09-2009, 2:29 AM Gorgeous male. That guy is gonna get big quick! You will never get tired of watching him swim and he will grow to eat anything. LFS had one that would even take out codium on arrival
grouper therapy 03-09-2009, 8:24 AM He won't be shy very long. They are cool fish my got very personable . He would come to the glass and wait on food(not so special) but would spit water at you if you didn't produce some food.
JessPete 03-09-2009, 9:26 AM Yeah, he was spitting at us at the store. He's eaten shrimp and squid practically out of my hands (tongs) and he was out and about a whole bunch last night.
jmaneyapanda 03-09-2009, 9:29 AM Xanthicthys triggers rule. I had a big pair of crosshatches, sold them, and then regretted it. So, I got a smaller pair, and only ahd to give up ONE of my kidneys for them!! What a deal!!!
JessPete 03-09-2009, 9:36 AM I saw your crosshatches. I'm not in that market yet! But maybe someday!
jmaneyapanda 03-09-2009, 9:44 AM that picture was the old pair. The male was about 6-7" and the female like 6". My new pair, the male is about 4" and the female the same. The male is a really subdued male (not nearly ars vibrant as the big male and only a hint of red in the tail), buthis fins e=are edged in bright yellow and his tail has a slight orange hue.
dmahoney82 03-09-2009, 9:53 AM Beautiful fish!
grouper therapy 03-09-2009, 10:07 AM I have a sargassum now he is a little to friendly. He likes to taste my arm everytime it's am in the tank.
JessPete 03-09-2009, 10:20 AM You must be yummy!
JessPete 03-15-2009, 9:12 PM Trigger definitely isn't shy now!
Look, ma, two triggers!
weaglereefer 03-15-2009, 9:15 PM I hope my boy grows up to be as beautiful as that one. Was it the one in Keen Reef?
ericmcj31 03-15-2009, 9:15 PM Jess..BEAUTIFUL trigger (fish)! Just curious, b/c I'd love one in my reef, he doesn't bother anything like corals? or inverts?
weaglereefer 03-15-2009, 9:15 PM eric, my blue jaw hasn't bothered a thing in the 2 months I've had him.
