strapingyunglad 02-12-2009, 7:00 PM How do you manage to keep your halimeda alive? iv had several colonies and all of them bleached out. Very cool tank, hendrix is a great fish name. LONG LIVE DSB'S!!!

Scottdale, as in right beside Decatur. :) I live about 1.5 miles from downtown Decatur.
ericmcj31 02-12-2009, 7:12 PM ok, maybe it's scottsboro I'm thinking about-

Rickey (stickx911) gave me about 2 handfuls of halimeda 304 weeks ago. I just tucked it into crevices in my tank and that shi* grows like crazy! I absolutely love it. I had pieces that fell out of the rockwork and started attaching right to the sand bed. :)
I love my lavender. He's an eating machine!
coolsurf 02-12-2009, 7:15 PM Stacy...your tank looks very nice, certainly coming along well! Can't wait to see more pics.:)

Seedless Reefer 02-12-2009, 8:52 PM Looking good!
Three things I really like..........
1. The macro in the tank. More and more I am starting to see it and done right I think it really adds to the tank. Not everyone will agree but the cool people know whats what.
2. That honkin sea fan!
3. The super sleek adhesive thermometer measuring the temp of your sand:D
Keep up the good work!
Linda Lee 02-12-2009, 8:59 PM Nice job, Stacy!!
Wow ... that tang is gorgeous.
Atlanta Aquarium 02-12-2009, 9:39 PM Stacy, nice looking setup. Gotta love that lawnmover. Careful with him. He'll jump out of the tank. That's how I lost mine.
gaguy68 02-12-2009, 10:51 PM nice tank there stacy.... i still hate you cause your's is bigger :-)

I figured someone would crack on me for the thermometer. :) It was on the tank when I got it and I never took it off. I guess it's good that I can monitor my sand bed. :)
FutureInterest 02-13-2009, 7:10 AM Nice tank! :) Looking very good.
BASSCYN 02-13-2009, 7:27 AM Looks great Stacy!
You picked a great spot for the xenia too.
All by itself...not touching anything:)

That stuff is growing like crazy. Won't be long until I'll be giving some of it away. :)
bclark7169 02-13-2009, 8:51 AM nice looking tank
Akopley 02-13-2009, 9:16 AM Great looking tank. I love halimeda in the display. Unlike many sea plants its easy to trim if it starts getting out of control. Whenever you take it out of the water or don't give it proper light it will turn white but then within 24 hours goes back to dark green, at least from my experience. If you have really low calcium this plant will not suruvive.
NotiReef 02-13-2009, 10:52 AM Stacy...i love the aquascaping and the tang is beautiful. :)
Vey nice!!! But I think Hendrix would be much happier with me! :D
