This morning when I turned the lights on, I discovered that my beautiful, deep red RBTA is now two beautiful, deep red RBTA's!!!

Derek, you might remember this one, since you bagged it for me. I got it from Cap Bay as a Mother's Day gift. Debra said they were getting this dark red morph from a local guy who was splitting them by cutting. She wouldn't tell me the source. There were only three at Cap Bay (I think) and this guy was tiny and still healing from the slicing. I thought it was crazy to pay $150 for a 'nem.

But he turned out nicely!! Before the split, he was plate-size and Lee's clowns had no problems having enough space to roll around in it all day. The two I now have are surprisingly good-sized (not ping-pong ball sized, like I expected) and just as dark-red as before.

I couldn't be more thrilled!!!

Although the clowns seem a bit confused, as they go back and forth between the two.

Merry Christmas to meeeeeeeeeeeee!!

:)

Thanks!

Yes, things are looking up.

I'll try to get a picture this evening. I hope the 'nems don't run off and hide now. The original stayed where I put him way back when and was always nicely visible. If I have travelers now, that would be a bummer.

Yes, I remember it Linda. It is probably the best rbta nem I have seen to date. Please let me know if you want to sell your split. I wanted one but we sold them so quick and never got anymore.

I'm at work and can't take pictures of the new nem(s), but here are some older ones. Pictures are from my phone and are crummy -- santa couldn't afford to get me a new digital cam this year. :)

#1 -- Here's when he was a baby, shortly after I got him. He now spreads out to cover that rock (or at least he did before he split):

#2 - Here he is a couple months ago when the clowns finally accepted him. 'Nem is not as orange as this picture shows:

Thanks for all the interest and PM's. I have a second pair of clownfish (Darwins) that are needing a 'nem, so I'm going to keep this split. If I change my mind or have any additional splits, I'll respond to the PM's in order.

I dont know if you are interested in variety as well, Linda, but I have a really nice unique GBTA morph from cap bay as well that was from a private source as well. It is a very nice neon green, and has a 'cracked glass' texture to the skin. Never seen another like it. Just throwing that out there as a possible trade in the future. THis grren one is notorious for rapid splitting for some reason (at cap bay) but it has not yet split since I got it in August.

Linda, congrats! And if you need the extra cash, sell that puppy! I would. Good for you. I'm happy to hear this news!
