View Full Version : Firefox browser???
Schwaggs 12-23-2008, 1:06 PM Guys,
I recently switched to the Firefox browser and am having problems getting the following to work:
Quick reply - I can't use the quick reply at the bottom of each thread. When I click the button, I get an endless swirling "please wait" status.
I can't edit a post - The edit button is there but when clicked, I get an endless swirling "please wait" status.
Are these known issues or are they problems with my PC? Is Firefox supported by the site?
twocute2b4u 12-23-2008, 1:09 PM Firefox is a great browser, however it does not work with everything that is web based. I don't have it loaded on my laptop but will load it and let you know what type of response I get.
NotiReef 12-23-2008, 1:12 PM Anyone use Maxthon 2.1 Browser?????? I haven't had a single problem with it (knock on wood). :)
weaglereefer 12-23-2008, 1:46 PM I have the same problems here with Firefox.
LorenK 12-23-2008, 2:08 PM Unfortunately, it is a known issue. We've spent hours trying to figure out why without luck.
There is a thread here (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16992) with some work around suggestions.
We have plans to upgrade the forum software to the latest version in the early part of 2009 and that should correct the issue.

Schwaggs 12-23-2008, 2:37 PM Thanks Loren.
Yup- what Loren said. For what it's worth, I'm using FF now as well, and the lack of Quick Reply drives me crazy, but I just haven't had the time to sit down and do the upgrade needed. Patience, my fellow geek.. :)
yea, it irritated me as well not being able to use my quick reply. i since started using safari from mac and it works like a charm, although it does have its flaws like everything, it does what i need it to do.

windows only...poo
Oil_Fan 12-25-2008, 12:33 AM I just gotta say as a Firefox user...it is the #2 browser in the market. It would make sense to fully support it.
Though it does irritate me that Suntrust will support Safari and Netscape but not Firefox for bill pay...:confused2: I mean really...who still uses Netscape????
My personal geek squad recommended firefox once when I caught a virus(not from the porn either?). Had the same problems. Switched back to IE.

Steve 12-25-2008, 12:52 AM My quick reply works great FWIW and I'm on Firefox, not the new version but 2.0 or something like that.
FutureInterest 12-25-2008, 1:35 AM I use firefox exclusively and used to have that issue with it on this site. I dunno what changed but quick reply and edit works just fine now...
Snowman733 12-29-2008, 10:09 PM Oh and I've had problem with ARC on Google Chrome, I cannot get a drop down list when I click on something that should have a drop down list.
For An Example: When I am looking at a post, and I want to PM a person through that post, I usually just click on the user's name and a list will drop down and I click PM the person, but in Chrome, I have to click on the username, and go to their page, and PM that person through there. The same thing happens with all the things on ARC that usually have a drop down menu.
Small problem I know, but it would be nice if it worked on chrome as it does on internet explorer.
Thanks!

Internet explorer.
Firefox is built ontop of the old netscape, so I would assume if you're using firefox, they should support it...but not every company uses common sense.

For some reason, SunTrust doesn't. They recognize that I don't have Netscape and I have to use IE for bill pay. I can use Firefox for everything else on their site but not that.
SunTrust is the only site I have a real problem. For everything else, Firefox works just fine.
stickx911 12-30-2008, 12:00 AM I have a wells fargo account that I have to have IE for. that was a pita....
