I was standing in front of my tank feeding my fish when all the sudden all of my lights went out. I look at the RK2 and it says my tank is 126.1 degrees. Considering my hand was in the water I knew this wasnt the case. I restarted the unit, still reading 126.1. Unplugged the temp probe, still 126.1. Turn it off with the probe out and back on with it out. Still is not working. I am about to leave for the holidays so this is just unacceptable. Im gonna pull the whole unit and run outdoor timers. They have atleast never failed me and the RK2 has been in for service already for a similar problem.

Did you try to recalibrate the temp probe?
Yeah that finally did fix it but I dont trust it. Thankfully after the last time it died, I only had my lights and a PH controlled by it so my return and other 2 PHs would still be good to go. The temp was 78 one second and 126.1 the next. I cant take that risk with the corals I have.

Wow, sorry to here that. I love my rk2 and have not had any problems. I did have problems with the outdoor timers though. Almost burnt the house down.It was my fault though I bought the ones with out the ground and had to use the adapter to make it a three way plug for the lights. Note to self dont do what I did. Good luck.

I'll go ahead and make the sacrifice.. I come get it from you to save you some trouble :)
Its gonna be up for sale once I get it back from service and DA gives it a clean bill of health.

I love commputers and micro processors, (since I'm in electronics and have 5 computers networked in the house), but unless you have a redundent system I hink timers are more reliable. As long as you do not overload them and "have a ground" <lol> Most timers I've used last almost forever. Never bought expensive ones.

Charlie are you still going to sell your RK2? I might be interested.
I actually plan on selling my AC Jr. Might hold onto the RKII just for the halide sure on and put my other supplements VHOs on a completely separate system.
