View Full Version : FS/FT male flasher wrasse
jwils27 11-24-2008, 6:18 PM He is a real nice, healthy and active fish. I've had him about 4-5 months. The problem is my tri-color fairy wrasse does not like him. so the flasher make residency in the over flow most of the time where it is safe from the tri-color. thus, I don't get to enjoy him much and would rather pass him on to some one who can. I don't know if it is a McCosker's or a Carpenter but he looks like both with the great blue strips and large fin.(I think its a carpenter but I'm not an expert) If you wish to get this fish you must have a tight fitting top b/c this one is a jumper. Asking $40 or trade of equal value
Sorry no pic but he look like the McCosker's onhttp://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1378+2648&pcatid=2648 just slightly different color
Brazilian 11-24-2008, 6:33 PM what do you like to have on trade?

jwils27 11-24-2008, 7:25 PM I would prefer SPS or new T5 48 inch bulbs something I'll use
Barbara 11-24-2008, 7:42 PM I'm interested, but I've got a little problem going on in my tank right now and wouldn't be able to take him for another week or so, depending on my tank condition. I've got some pink birdsnest (really pretty), and I could also frag a starry night coral and throw in some zoas. LMK if that's a good trade.
Miami Dolfan 11-24-2008, 8:01 PM I'll give you the $40
jwils27 11-24-2008, 8:16 PM Barbra I Just Picked Up A Nice Bn Colony If You Have Any Other Nice Colonies Lmk Also The Over Flow Box Is Not The Ideal Environment To Have Him Couped Up In. Dolfan Pm Is Being Sent.
Barbara 11-24-2008, 8:21 PM If you prefer the $40, I will not be offended at all. If it were me, I'd take the $40. LMK if that deal falls through. I'd love to do the trade, but if you go for another, I will totally understand.
jwils27 11-24-2008, 8:23 PM no problem Barbara I will keep you posted
jwils27 11-24-2008, 8:53 PM still for sale
James S. 11-24-2008, 9:06 PM I have some T5 bulbs I would trade ya. Thats only if Barbara's deal falls thru. I would rather her have it. If she passes let me know.
How would he do in a 24 Nanocube?
FutureInterest 11-24-2008, 9:18 PM How many filaments on the dorsal fin does it have? What's the coloration of its under belly and anal fin?
Better yet get me a picture and I can postively ID it for yah, but it's prolly a carpenter simply because mckoskers are hard to come by.
Both are beautiful and very similar when non-flashing.
James S. 11-24-2008, 10:10 PM If it looks anything like the one in the link, then it is simply stunning. Have you got one Jin?
FutureInterest 11-24-2008, 10:14 PM I had 3 but lost 1 recently. It jumped and although it can't escape the canopy it got stuck on the acrylic rim and quickly turned into a fish chip. Usually they keep jumping till they plop back in but... oh well. Its one of my favorite things to watch in the tank when the mckosker's are flashing. That blue is hypnotic but when they're not flashing... well they look pretty ordinary... like any other flasher. As of late they haven't been flashing as one my tongan flame has been a lil aggressive with them. If he continues he'll have to find a new home...
jwils27 11-24-2008, 10:37 PM He look very similar he has two or three dorsal whips on his fin I'm not sure. he also has three spots on his caudal fin. I haven't seen him in a while because he will literally jump in the over flow the second i get him out. But the fish is beautiful and flashes often. I hate to get rid of him but like I said he's hard to enjoy when he lives in my overflow.
Barbara 11-24-2008, 10:42 PM I'm still interested if I have anything that interests you. I've got Starry night, red digitata, some emeralds on fire zoas, some radioactive dragoneye zoas, blue ridge coral and a red millie. I don't have a lot of "LE" or collectors, but I've got a few nice pieces.
