Look what I picked up today from Aquarium Center. A pair of Onyx Perculas from PNG. They were not cheap - but definitely worth it.... Beautiful Fish.

They had not finished opening the bags yet when I snagged these guys.

I think this ID is Bs, but according to most:
Typically the dorsal fin is all black, as is all coloring between the bars.

Yeah T and MvM, I'm in the same boat. Here are mine, which I bought as a pair for $60 as True Percs:

The female looks as Onxy as Acroporas, but I dunno about the proper ID. She has gotten darker over time.

Correction on the onyx Percs. Those are what they are calling Super Percs from Papau New Quanea. They come in differant everytime, some have polkadots or very weird lines like spider webs. Sorry for the confusion.

I guess the question is: Where they sold as Onyx Clowns or True Percs? Big price difference!

We have no super percs left. However, we have 4 nice png true percs for 42.99.

An onyx percula is an abnormally black A. percula. The question is it a "true percula" or an onyx percula is stupid. So every onyx percula is a "true percula"? It is not one or the other it is a question of one and the other.

The fish I purchased are definitely A. percula, and how much black it takes before you can call it onyx is debatable. For me an ony percula will have black connecting the first and second stripe, and the second and third stripe and black between the first two stripes mush go all the way up to the dorsal.

So by my defination the female definitely qualifys. The male - well I would not consider it onyx yet, but it is still very small and likely will still develop more black as it matures. I think that most likely when it matures it will be as black as the female.

As for the price. They were expensive. Very expensive. But to me, worth every penny. In fact I might order another.
