Well it's a far cry from what it used to be :( Was going to stay FOWLR, but I needed some movement so I've been picking up a few softies here and there. The remaining SPS is all sold...for the exception of the red mille...that has a for sale thread. Any who, enjoy the sad looking tank, lol. Oh yeah and the egg crate rack was in there because it was covered in aptasia that made for a great meal for the copperband....and there is a stupid tree coral in the tupperware that wont stay attached to the plug....tried everything, so in there it will stay till it attached to something.

Yeah sadly I had to get rid oof all my SPS in fear of my move...well, possible move. Much easier to move softies/lps than SPS......sigh.

Softy tanks can be just as cool as SPS tanks when done right. Plus you get they usually cost alot less to run.

Oh yeah...once the rest of the SPS is gone, the CA reactor is coming off :) I've already dropped the halides to 4 hrs a day...the VHO's are on for 9. I just need to find some cool looking softies to throw in there.

I have a chunk of anthelia you can have. The rock is about softball sized and the stalks are long and wavy.

Lee, I have a green-stripped 'shroom for ya. Let me know when you want me to drop it by. And I'll see what else I can knock loose from the rocks.

We'll have your tank looking like a garden in no time!! I've seen some gorgeous softy tanks.

Did you see the "Ric waterfall" from the other thread? It looked spectacular.

I think there are a lot of very pretty softies out there.. One that looks nice is that toadstool with the neon green tips, I am still looking to get a frag of that.

Lower maintenance + less risk of seems like a a very good idea to me.

Tim sells those ORA toadstools for a great price, you may want to check it out.

That tank sucks! You need some sand, it'll be pretty then.

Well I got my Reeflux bulbs today and thew them in...I noticed a few things off the bat, they are longer than the Iwasakis and the inner envelope is larger too....I wonder if the tighter envelope on the Iwasakis have anything to do with the higher PAR output? Anywho, I LOVE these bulbs...color wise. Should be interesting to see what kind of numbers the 175's are pulling. Alas, here are some pics.

The bulbs:

I love the green-polyped toadstool leather. The top picture makes it look like a Fiji Yellow!

lol yeah for real! These bulbs are pulling some amazing colors out of the corals. VHO's are off in this picture too. Thanks again Bud for the anthelia, it gives great motion to the tank!

Not to rob your thread but are you running electronic or magnetic ballasts?I'm thinking of getting some of these bulbs but I have mag ballasts and need to know if they will work.
And I love softie's,I have about 40 differant corals in my tank.
Your tank looks great

Thanks Jason, and no worries about stealing thread. I run ARO electronic ballasts. However hellolights.com says:

"Can operate on a probe start ballasts, pulse start ballasts or electronic ballasts"

I purchased mine from: http://www.reefspecialty.com
