In December 2006 a vote was submitted to the Atlanta Reef Club members to make an amendment to the ByLaws concerning annual dues.
Vote results can be found here. (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1802)
Today the Board of Directors had a vote to increase the dues to $30 annually.
This vote's results can be found here. (http://www.atlantareefclub.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2107)
The increase will be effective immediately.
The decision to increase dues was in the interest of the club's growth and interests.
...so in other words, be on the lookout for great things coming to the ARC!!!

If you have already paid your dues for 2007 then you will not be expected to pay an additional $9-10.

The increase in dues will help provide enough budget to include the barcode upgrade on membership cards, a projector for the club, a wireless microphone (since we're getting to the size where its just too difficult to hear at meetings and the handheld is too inconvient for speakers to want to use) and ofcourse more items for door prizes/raffles to give to members at meetings.

Yes, there is still a discount for all students under the age of 18 ($20 dues annually).

DOH! I joined 6 days late!..... something tells me the $30 I spend here will be made up for in this somewhat expensive undertaking.....
Yay I am the newest member - NEWB . I like in Buford, so anyone local, please free to drop me a line. I am starting a 55Gal reef tank and have 2 freshwater tanks. I have about a 3 of 10 understanding at this point of what I am doing, but am planning on taking the slow route to set this up.
Cheers!
