View Full Version : Glad I stopped by....
Barbara 10-18-2008, 10:38 PM Hey Patrick and Steve. It was good to talk to you guys today. Even though you didn't have what I needed, you were able to point me in the right direction to find it. Thanks for all your tips. Tomorrow is definitely the "frag tank day". Seriously. It's getting done this weekend.....
LDYBKR 10-19-2008, 11:27 AM Barb, what are you fragging?
Barbara 10-19-2008, 12:44 PM Nancy, I'm actually "organizing" my frag tank. Right now all the frags are just loose on the bottom of my barebottom frag tank. I've picked up some marble pieces to mount the frags on, and am going to raise the frags and put a powerhead under the frags to blow the bottom off.
LDYBKR 10-19-2008, 12:55 PM Ahhh, when you are ready to sell some, keep me in mind?
Barbara 10-19-2008, 12:58 PM Sure. Haven't really ever "sold" a frag; usually trade 'em for other frags or for equipment. Once I get the frag tank properly functional, I expect I'll be "farming" a little faster in the future.
Glad you stopped by Barbara, it was good to talk to you and I'm gonna have to come see your tank soon.
Did you end up finding what you need at Lowes?
Barbara 10-20-2008, 5:58 PM Steve, I did find what I needed at lowes. Check it out. I don't like the height; think I'll lower the racks about an inch, but overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
Mockery 10-20-2008, 6:05 PM Wow Barbra that looks good
Barbara 10-20-2008, 6:10 PM Thanks. I realize I should have wiped down all that saltwater spillage before I took the picture though.
Mockery 10-20-2008, 6:11 PM How big is it and the other specs
Derek_S 10-20-2008, 6:20 PM That is actually really nice!
Is that Daves old setup?
BTW, that birdsnest you gave me is growing like crazy!
Barbara 10-20-2008, 6:24 PM It is a 20 long, and it has a center overflow, which I have plumbed into the main system. Here's a shot of the entire system, and a shot of the overflow on the frag tank, and finally, the obligatory FTS that you always have to take when you get the camera out and start taking pictures!
Barbara 10-20-2008, 6:25 PM That is actually really nice!

I am glad to hear that. When you posted pics of your tank, I didn't see the birdsnest in there, so I thought you lost it. Did it turn hot pink for you? Jin finally got his frag of it. He's got it in his new frag tank and says it's really turning pink already. (It was browned out in my frag tank, just like the one I gave you.)
Derek_S 10-20-2008, 6:44 PM Yeah, it is hot pink. And very spikey.
blind1993 10-20-2008, 6:49 PM you have a sweet tank.
Barbara 10-20-2008, 6:51 PM Thanks! I like it, but I want to re-aquascape again though. I'm not happy with the aquascaping. Not enough options for SPS.
Did you see that beast of an anemone I have? And the poor digi on the overflow that was caught in it's trail of death when it moved back over to the left? I need to get that poor digi skeleton out of there.....
blind1993 10-20-2008, 6:54 PM if you want more sps you are going to make shelfs like my tank has.
twocute2b4u 10-20-2008, 9:39 PM Barbara, that is way cool!!! I've only started the hobby but hope to learn how to frag. I will probably be asking you for help and/or suggestions. So far I have Xenia, leather and a couple of lobo's.
I am off to a good start :-)
twocute2b4u 10-20-2008, 9:43 PM Barbara,
I didn't get as far as seeing your tank set up before replying to the frag tank. Your tank is awesome!! Looks very nice!!

nickskains 10-20-2008, 9:45 PM Nice tank and frag setup. Frag tank is Fragalicious. Thats mine, Im copyrighting it. :D Nice to see what another 90g tank looks like. I like the rock work. After seeing yours, I think I got too much rock. If such a thing could be true.:lol2:
Bleedingthought 10-20-2008, 9:50 PM Very nice, Barb!
Looks good Barb! I'm gonna have to come see it soon!
Barbara 10-20-2008, 11:04 PM Steve, you're welcome any time!
Nick, yeah, I had to take around 30-40 pounds out when I re-aquascaped last time! Fortunately I have 2 other 20Gs, so I was able to put the rock to use elsewhere.
twocute2b4u 10-20-2008, 11:10 PM I think we all should plan a field trip to Barbara's house :-)
I am sorry to say that I also think that I may have too much rock, but oh well, I will just have to buy a bigger tank :-)
Barbara 10-20-2008, 11:13 PM Heck yeah! Bigger tank! That's always the way to go.
When I first started buying stuff, I couldn't resist the live rock. I must have about 150# in my 90, and another 30# in each 20G tank. I love live rock, but I'm never happy with the sizes, shapes, etc., and I can never get my aquascaping just the way I like it. Ugh! It's a big pain.
