View Full Version : Check Out Aquarium Center, Inc in Alpahretta
gpenley 09-22-2008, 11:34 PM Hey ARC members,
If you live anywhere near Alpharetta you should stop in and see the new salt water livestock, coral, critters, water, supplies, information and advice and get a FREE glass of WINE in Bill's store on Roswell Road in Alpharetta. It is AQUARIUM CENTER at 356 Main Street in Alpharetta. It is just south of Old Milton Parkway west of Georgia 400 on Main Street/ route 120. It is on left hand side of street going south.
:yay:
His prices are very good and he has a good and quickly growing variety/supply of livestock and great coral. He is adding more and more setups and tanks. He also services and isntalls systems. It is in small separate building with low overhead, so he can provide livestock and coral at lower pricesd without higher rent like Aquairum Showcase has. I bought a very nice SPS green coral tree for under $50. He provides great competition for Aquarium Showcase and helps keep their prices down too.
While in the area, also go to Aquairum Showcase. (It is just 4 blocks from Aquarium Center on corner of Haynes Bridge and Old Milton Parkkway. Their store is well stocked, well set up, they have lots and lots of great coral and are moving a lot of it. Now that Cappaccino Bay bit the dust they are expanding, stocking more and going on strong and are much friendlier and easy to work with than CB.
Take care,
Steve 09-22-2008, 11:42 PM I don't think it's cool about you bashing CapBay. Friends of mine got burned by what happened.
LDYBKR 09-23-2008, 12:17 AM I think this post is in bad taste.
reefscape 09-23-2008, 2:05 AM wow
Sounds like the only thing they are missing is an ARC sponsorship! Im sure you mentioned that right Gary? lol
reefscape 09-23-2008, 2:29 AM nope they both have one
Oh wow, I assumed this would have been in the sponsors forum but I just looked and there they are. Im glad to see another store in Alpharetta!
George 09-23-2008, 3:13 AM I've been up to Aquarium Center and it's a very nice store. I had a great time chatting with Bill and I'm sure I'll be there on my rounds once I get my tank set up.
That said, your post rubs me wrong. The jab at CB, which was a HUGE loss to the hobby, was uncalled for as was the poke at Aquarium Showcase. If you have/had a problem with CB or Aquarium Showcase, their forums are where to bring it up, not as a bullet point to endorse a new store.
How much did you pay for the SPS and how big was it? "Under $50" has a $49 bandwidth.
Skriz 09-23-2008, 10:02 AM Thread move to appropriate forum
Jeff.mcphail 09-24-2008, 12:28 AM **** Good prices on fish !!! Picked up a nice Copperband Butterfly that eats like a pig for 20 bucks and a nice Bangii for 13 bucks with my arc discount!
theplatypus 09-24-2008, 7:34 AM Being that CB set the bar so high I can see why stores would feel threatened by them. However, is there really any need to bash them when they're down?
Jeff.mcphail 09-24-2008, 9:47 AM Just an insight into ones experience at two stores, one of which no longer exist. Who cares! This is not the correct forum for this and it is not fair to the sponsor whose forum you are filling up with this complaining garbage. you want an opinion? It is my opinion that some of you miss your old high school drama bs and have nothing better to do than try and relive it here. Grow Up.
Jeff, you do realize it was in a public forum to begin with right? Maybe you just didn't realize that. And once Raj moved it, people stopped *****ing about it.
Jeff.mcphail 09-24-2008, 10:04 AM No, I did realize that and the last comment was not before the move.
Jeff.mcphail 09-24-2008, 10:05 AM thus why I said what I have said.
Steve 09-24-2008, 11:29 AM just to clarify, mine was well before the move and didn't mention anything of it after the move. so if it may have been aimed at me that was no good friend.
Skriz 09-24-2008, 11:32 AM Let's not detract from this sponsor's thread by arguing about a store that is no longer in business.
Steve 09-24-2008, 11:33 AM yessir bossman raj. haha
chauwall 09-24-2008, 9:49 PM Oh, new store in Alpharetta? I need to stop by...
Treyeleven 11-30-2008, 11:07 PM Aquarium Center is open this Monday.
Treyeleven 12-12-2008, 12:26 PM Shipment in route from the airport. Expecting a fresh batch of fish, inverts, and corals out for sale by 3pm today.
gpenley 12-12-2008, 6:35 PM I was in Aquarium Center today and they got a good supply of fish and new coral in. They are slowly expanding their stock, have very good prices, are most helpful to clientele, as they have been in the salt water mainetance and building business for 30 years and want to help hobbiests. They also said they plan to be open on Mondays which is great news for me since most salt water places are closed on Mondays and this is usually the day I realize I need water or chemicals, or food when I return home from weekend trips. If you live in the Alpaharetta area check them out; they are located right on Route 9 (Main Street) in ALpharetta.
Hey I noticed a couple of salt water enthusiasts were upset with my first announcment on Aquarium Showcase reopening this past summer and Aquarium Center being open in Alpharetta. I was in no way intending to put down or bash Cappaccino Bay. I loved that store, the staff and their incredible stock. It was a bit of a drive for me in ALpharetta but wass usually worth the time and gas. They heped me get started with my first salt water tank, and second and third; I spent several thousand dollars there and would still go if they were open. I miss them. However I shop at many stores, am always looking for new critters from the sea, meeting more enthusiasts, and learning from more enthusiasts and like to share what I learn and help each of us in this expensive but great hobby.
Best wishes for a great Christmas Holiday!!

Gary I appreciate the kinds words... You are exactly right about Cap bay and all the other stores. I was looking at my tank this morning and noticed that I have various livestock right NOW living in my aquarium from Keen reef, Aquarium Center, Optimum Aquarium, Fish Store and More, Marine Fish, The Avarium, Saltwater city and Cappucino Bay even Petland alpharetta. Wow that even surprises me.
