View Full Version : Nice acros, and prices seem a little lower
Derek_S 09-02-2008, 6:49 PM Despite being a really nice store, I have never been a big fan of MF because of the seemingly high prices (and the pressure to shop on the weekdays due to the discount). But recently I was in there and noticed that some things were becoming more competatively priced (livestock wise). I am glad to see this, as MF is a nice, big, clean store that is relatively close to me.
I also noted some nice acros and zoos arriving, which seem to be absent from most other stores I visit, save one other. Nothing LE-ish per se, but I did notice some nice tri-color looking acros and what I thought was a neato tabling deepwater acro.
Just felt like passing this on.
Steve 09-02-2008, 10:43 PM Thanks Chris! That deepwater tabling acro is actually going in the reef, unless someone picks it up before Friday I believe! I pulled what I believed to be a Purple Haze monti out of a bag yesterday and some really bright pink and purple zoas! Look like Armor of Gods and Ring of Fire zoas. Hopefully this will happen much more often! We also got a ton of anthias in, a long with a bunch of lionfish and among other things. A XLARGE Pasonifer Angel, pair of crosshatches, numerous cleaner wrasses, that are awesome by the way! Leopard wrasses, secretive wrasses and mystery wrasses!
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 10:59 AM Anything left? Im about it to head that way..
Steve 09-03-2008, 11:02 AM There's a ton left, we open at noon though.
Derek_S 09-03-2008, 11:11 AM Dr, they just got all this in the past couple days so I'm sure you would have near cherry pick. I was there day before yesterday and they were unpacking many many boxes.
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 12:20 PM Hurry up.. Im down the road a chilis waiting on you guys..
Derek_S 09-03-2008, 12:27 PM You know MF is good about letting you in early if you call and ask. They actually get there well before business hours, presumably to prep the store. I used to slip infrom time to time before 12.
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 12:28 PM Well hell come and eat at chilis with me.. Then we can go clean them out
Derek_S 09-03-2008, 12:40 PM I wish. Actually, I'll meet you there at 12? I'll bring you a present. I have an ok looking green candycane that is super special. I will tell you it's story when I get there. I just cant stay long.... I have school at 1
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 12:53 PM At chilis or MF?
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 3:16 PM Bump for an awsome store.. Super deal going on right now..bought a 8x5 piece of orange monti for around $30

Glad you found something you wanted Doc!
DrNecropolis 09-03-2008, 6:18 PM If you were there you prolly saw me
I wasn't, today was my day off.
Morris 09-07-2008, 5:45 PM saw you there and we appreciate all the good posts guys.
Marine Fish is one of my favorite stores. I cant wait til I am in Atlanta next time again so I can come visit.
I can't wait to see you again too Charlie, it's always a pleasure talking to you.
Yeah next time I come I owe you a few zoa frags. Haha Ive been promising those for how long?
Few months, just let me know so I can bring some cash. I have a list I just typed up of mine that you might be a little interested in. I just need a lesson on fragging them.
RedEDGE2k1 10-30-2008, 5:49 PM I'm glad my post from this summer (about their ridiculous prices, eg. $200 for a bland 4" SPS colony) worked out for the best in the end.
Rickey 10-30-2008, 7:35 PM When I do go to Atl about once or twice a year I always go there and two other places, one of which I can't go anymore. Anyhow, I always enjoy the visit even if I don't buy; usually I do. The employees are always nice and knowledgable, don't harrass but offer help. I don't know what else you could ask for from an employee. The tanks always look awesome too.
