Elos 120 was delivered by Chris last weekend. Starting mixing water last night. Transfering livestock from my existing 34 gallon Solana this weekend and looking forward to it!

Just from seeing it today for a few minutes as Ryan was transferring stock over... I have nothing to say but, stunning! When the bulbs get burned in and the tank clears...

Todd... you have competition! :p

Update:

Back in August I added a powder blue and 2 days later it showed major ich symptoms. Wiped out my entire fish population in about 3-4 weeks. Sucked. I think it may have been something worse than ich to have wiped out fish so fast.

I ran the tank fallow for 6 weeks and have since been adding fish. in there now is a flame angel, african pigmy angel, mystery wrasse, juvinile chevron tang and yasha hasha goby.

Also have added misc. SPS and LPS. Check out pics...

Does this tank use led lighting? Was wondering why you need a chiller?

No LED lighting. Elos only makes an LED light for it's Mini (20 gallon) tank.

I have a Current Outer Orbit Pro hanging over the tank. 2 250W metal halides and 4 T5s. I would love to get an LED fixture and considered the new Solaris I-5 fixture but i'm not really bought into LED technology yet. It is still pricey and I'm not sold on it. I know the PAR readings can beat MH though. In 1-2 years we will see a lot more units on the market and more proven results.

The chiller is a neccesity for me bc i let the temp fluctuate a lot at home - especially when im not there.

Not to drag up old threads / I know it has been a LONGGG time... but do you still own this tank? If so, any updates?

Nope haha I sold it a while back, finishing up my bachelors degree this year and plans for a new tank at that point. Thank you for the interest though it was a great tank

Edit: Lol excuse my post, I thought this was a thread on my old elos oops :X

Haha no worries you had a beautiful elos as well. Congrats on getting your degree soon. Just graduated myself... now job hunting and hopefully 120xl buying :)

I did maintenance on this tank about 2 weeks ago... phenomenal! I cut back almost every single coral, since they were all growing onto the surface, remind me in a few weeks, and I'll try and go take some pics once the corals are back in shape after the massive fragging!

That would be awesome, I am very curious about the progress. I am planning out a build in the next few months and I'd love to come check out your store for some ideas / budget planning :)

If you are planning a budget based around an Elos 120, then think big. They are very proud of their tanks. "The Ferrari of Aquariums," I think they are referenced as.

Yeah, that would be the plan. I want to map out the total cost of good equipment that is not Elos vs. a full set up that is... and see if the difference is worth the extra quality. Or perhaps find a used setup, but either way it will give me a good idea of whether or not my dream of an Elos is possible.

Hey all. Elos 120 is going strong. Major growth and fish couldnt be happier. I'll get some pics up at some point after the newly groomed corals grow back a bit. I can't say enough about these tanks. Nothing else even comes close in terms of design, function, and quality.
