Why don't we have a widget, so Iphone & mac users can save it to their desktop?

Save what to their desktop? Sorry- I work in an all Microsoft and unix world at the moment, so you may have to post some examples...

I just have the ARC site linked on my phone. Curious as to what a widget would do.

maybe the widget could have defineable parameters to track the last 10 new posts, or be limited to the last 10 FS posts, etc.

you can have widgets on windows also...

I have widgets for the weather, breaking news, and a slideshow of my pics..

maybe just a seriously cut down version of the new posts page that we could bookmark? Just the last 10 new posts or so...I'd link that to my home screen on my iPhone...

Windows Vista Sidebar & Mac Widgets would be cool, but to display what information? New threads, or new threads within a certain Forum are the only ones that I can think of....

sorry, I was talking about webclips, NOT widgets! (that would be cool, too) However, every website I save to my Iphone desktop, a cool ICON appears, that is, except ours.

a widget is an application on your desktop that is constantly running to do something specific...

examples

Weather Widget - constantly updates the weather information in your area
Stock Widget - constantly updates your stock information
Slide Show Widget - constantly shows a slide show of photos you pick
etc etc

it just sits on your desktop like an icon would but bigger..

I still don't know in what this 'widget' is. I know what it is in a general context, but not specifically what people are asking for. Everyone is only saying "it'd be great if it'd to this as well...", but I without an example, a link that describes it, or something else, it's impossible to even know what everyone is asking for.

Its a device, that when you get up to a velocity of 88 MPH and add 1.21 gigawatts will allow time travel......I think. Either that, or its what I use for my awesome photography skills.

What I would be interested in is a gadget/widget that shows the last 10 posts in a selectable forum that updates whenever a new post is added. Maybe it would show post title, post number, poster's name and time post was added. Of course the event would be a link to the post on the forum

Ah - I see now. I'm not running Vista and don't have a Mac to test on, so I doubt you'll be seeing one for our forums anytime soon... :) I did check on the other vbulletin development forums, and no one else had one either...
